AI optimizes tours for service fleets

The digital PlanBoard hosted in the private cloud in Arealcontrol's telematics portal now enables clear deployment planning of service vehicles with the help of artificial intelligence. This means that hundreds of service orders can be dispatched to the available service staff within minutes. Recurring orders are automatically generated and distributed to the staff one week in advance. Mixtures and ad hoc dispatch of emergency operations are also available.

The PlanBoard shows the workload for each vehicle in the form of orders with stations, the time required and the distance to be covered. The highly dynamic system takes numerous variables into account, such as the available vehicles, the scheduling or route optimization. Each vehicle is optimized in terms of its location, capacity and already planned tours. Orders are assigned in such a way that the available working time per vehicle is optimally utilized. Intelligent route selection can minimize the distance to be covered, which simultaneously saves fuel and protects the environment.

"AI-supported route planning offers the possibility of relieving the specialist dispatcher as much as possible or even replacing him/her and handling more orders with the same number of vehicles and personnel.
