AirSep: Stone and clod separator via airstream

At the Agritechnica 2013 Grimme received the "DLG Gold Medal" (DLG = German Agricultural Society) for the revolutionary pneumatic separator called AirSep, the system is able to separate stones, wet clods and haulm from potatoes by airflow in an efficient and extremely gentle way. Two years of extensive developments concerning the separation and energy efficiency, noise and dust emission as well as required installation space in the machine has seen this development come to fruition. In cooperation with our American subsidiary Spudnik more than 100 trailed harvesters and stationary systems have respectively been equipped with the new AirSep system. The machines not only working in the USA but also in Russia, Canada and China.

In Damme at the Grimme Technica 2014, Grimme demonstrated the AirSep and has successfully tested the SV 260 and SE 260 off-set harvesters with both German and overseas customers. These results will be integrated in new and further developments. For the European market many factors have to be considered. Extensive legal regulations concerning the noise emission, machinery directive as well as restrictions for the road transport. In overcoming these issues Grimme will now launch and offer this system at Agritechnica 2017 - the first potato harvester with AirSep meeting all these regulations for the European market.
