ALE employee given project award by JKC Australia LNG

ALE employee, Christian Lambert, has received a recognition award by one of the industry’s biggest contractors, JKC Australia LNG.

Christian, a Leading Hand on the Hydro Deck, is currently performing module load-ins for the Ichthys LNG Project in Darwin. He received the Project Monthly Recognition Award for the manner in which he performed a safety toolbox talk on the importance of recognising body language as a tool of understanding what colleagues and non-colleagues are feeling, as opposed to relying purely on speech.

Nominated for his ‘compassionate and well thought presentation’ which addressed emotive and sensitive issues in the workplace, Christian was presented with his recognition certificate by Mike Webb, JKC’s Module Offloading Facility Operations Manager, and Brad George, JKC’s ER Advisor.

Christian Lambert, who has been working with ALE for since 2014, was proud to receive the award: “It was the first time I’d ever given a toolbox talk and I wanted to get across the importance of body language as a way of communicating. We all have to look out for each other, especially as we are working away from home on long-term projects. I am absolutely thrilled about receiving this recognition and I really wasn’t expecting the talk to be received the way it has. It is rewarding to know that everyone came away with the message and I’d like to think it made a real difference in the way we work together.”

Daniel Morgan, MOF Operations for JKC Australia LNG, praised Christian for his toolbox talk: “This presentation was done with compassion, honesty and integrity that clearly reaches deep within Christian,” he said.

Comprising of a joint venture between JGC Corporation, KBR and Chiyoda Corporation, JKC is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the Ichthys LNG Project’s onshore facilities.
