ALE has transported three transformers from Stafford to Ellesmere (via Browns Bank) on three separate moves using the AL50 girder frame, 14 axle lines and the award-winning Trojan trucks.
They were then transhipped to 10 axle flat top modular trailers at Ellesmere and rolled onto the Terra Marique barge. The barge travelled from Ellesmere to Hunterston in Scotland, where they were rolled off.
They were then transported a short distance to EDF Hunterston, where they will be prepared by Alstom for a transformer exchange which ALE will carry out in October 2015.
