Betonbud, the ready-mix concrete specialist, expanded its production capacity with an Ammann CBT 60 SL Elba. After six months of operation, the company's management gives its first impressions – and the verdict is positive.

Andrii Lazar had already been eyeing the good performance of Ammann machines owned by his competitors for a long time. Lazar, Deputy CEO of Betonbud GmbH, was considering an expansion of production capacities at his company's plant in Lviv, a convenient location for transportation in the heavily urbanised region of Western Ukraine where construction activity is intense. Ammann confirmed Lazar's favourable impressions during the tender phase, scoring high with fast, accurate processing of his enquiry. In April 2018, Betonbud installed a CBT 60 SL Elba in addition to its existing pan mixer system. Half a year after the Ammann plant was commissioned, the management is highly satisfied with its investment: "The CBT has a short batch cycle. That enables us to achieve very good mixing results," Lazar confirms.

Flexible modular technology

Ammann's CBT Elba series features highly flexible modular technology. Transport is straightforward, in two open-top containers, and the plant is quickly and easily set up on site. All plant components are interconnected and their electric and pneumatic elements are pre-installed. This largely eliminates connection and installation work. The plant is mounted on a concrete slab.

Ideal for every location

The installation in Lviv was completed quickly – despite poor weather conditions with snow and icy winds. The plant is designed to withstand winter conditions. The cladding for the CBT was provided by the plant owner.

Built-in safety at work

By design, the as1 Plant Control System is simple and self-explanatory. Together with the control cabinet, it is well protected inside the integrated control container but is also easily accessible – another convincing argument for Betonbud. A modern safety system with key transfer ensures that employees are safe while operation is in progress. These features meant that the Ammann CBT 60 SL Elba also met with good acceptance from the workforce.

Superb performance

The Betonbud team soon found that they were reaping positive rewards from the Ammann CBT Elba's impressive performance. The new acquisition is particularly convincing as compared to the older plant. With a 1 m³ single-shaft mixer, the CBT 60 SL Elba achieves a higher hourly output than the existing plant with its 1.5 m³ pan mixer. Total output of 60 m³/h enables Betonbud to meet market demand and supply numerous different varieties of concrete with consistently excellent quality, depending on the aggregate.

Convincing quality, competitive performance and comfortable handling – in every respect, Lazar is satisfied with his decision to opt for the Ammann CBT Elba. The deputy CEO reserves particular praise for the local service agency: "We are positively surprised by the fast and highly professional support we received with all service issues in our day-to-day business."
