  • ANMOPYC's 46th General Assembly in Zaragoza set a new attendance record with over 230 participants, serving as a major industry gathering.

  • The event featured strategic discussions on industry transformation, global market trends, mining sector challenges, and the impact of the European Data Act on connected machinery.

  • Emphasis was placed on innovation, digitalization, sustainability, internationalization, and talent development as key pillars for the sector's future.

  • The assembly fostered collaboration among members, showcased social responsibility through a charitable donation, and highlighted leadership and human-centered change management as essential for industry progress.

On 2 July, the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Construction, Public Works and Mining Machinery (ANMOPYC) held its 46th General Assembly at the Aragón Institute of Technology (ITA) in Zaragoza. Once again, the event consolidated its position as one of the leading fixtures on the industry calendar, setting a new attendance record with more than 230 participants.

The meeting brought together a large number of member companies, institutions, partners and experts in an environment focused on analysis, knowledge-sharing and the generation of new opportunities.

The General Assembly is ANMOPYC’s main participatory body and offers an opportunity to share with members the work carried out over the past year, review the key milestones achieved and jointly define the priorities that will guide the Association’s activities in the coming months.

The day began with a welcome address from the Association’s President, Rafael Simón, who highlighted the decisive moment the industry is currently experiencing. He also announced that ANMOPYC is already working on a strategic plan for the coming years, with the aim of anticipating the needs of an industry evolving at great speed.

Esther Borao, Director of the Aragón Institute of Technology (ITA), examined the major changes currently facing industrial companies and stressed ANMOPYC’s role as a meeting point through which businesses can address the sector’s technological challenges together.

Representing the Government of Aragon, Mar Paños de Arriba, Director General for Industrial Promotion and Innovation, conveyed the Administration’s commitment to supporting the sector throughout this transformation process.

Jorge Cuartero, Managing Director of the Association, presented the annual management report and reviewed the progress made across ANMOPYC’s various areas of activity. He highlighted the work carried out in institutional representation, internationalisation, international promotion, marketing, innovation, participation in European projects and the development of new services.

The aim is to further strengthen the position of Spanish manufacturers in both domestic and international markets, while maintaining ongoing dialogue with public administrations, business organisations and leading institutions.

Cuartero also highlighted ANMOPYC’s important role in the institutional representation of Spanish manufacturers. The Association actively participates in the main dialogue forums with public authorities and business organisations, conveying the sector’s needs through strategic initiatives such as the Plan Renove, the 2026–2030 Capital Goods Programme and the ELEVA project, as well as through organisations including the National Construction Confederation (CNC), CECE, CEOE, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism (MINTUR), and the Spanish Industry High-Level Forum.

A Global Perspective on the Machinery Market

The event continued with a presentation by Chris Sleight, Managing Director of consultancy firm Off-Highway Research, who is widely regarded as one of the leading international voices in the analysis of the construction machinery market.

During his presentation, he shared a global perspective on the sector’s development, examining the trends shaping the industry in different regions of the world, demand patterns and growth prospects for the coming years.

His presentation helped place the Spanish market in its international context and provided attending companies with valuable information to anticipate change, identify opportunities and gain a better understanding of the industry’s evolution.

The State of the Mining Market

The day continued with a presentation on the global mining market by Esther Yuste, Director of BGM Business Global Management. She addressed the strategic risks and opportunities facing the mining industry in 2026, focusing on the priorities required to compete, grow and protect value in an increasingly uncertain environment.

She also shared reflections on internationalisation, the challenges facing mining, and the inherent opportunities available to the sector.

Cesce Round Table

Cesce organised a round table focused on the situation in the MERCOSUR, Indian and African markets. Participants included Rafael Loring Rubio, Country Risk Analyst for Asia; María José Hernando, Head of the Country Risk Unit; and Lidia Candal Suárez, Country Risk Analyst for Sub-Saharan Africa. The session was moderated by Patricia Polo Alejos, Head of Strategic Business Relations.

Their contributions explored the outlook for these markets, the challenges arising from the international economic environment and the opportunities opening up for companies able to adapt to an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment, in which internationalisation remains one of the key pillars of growth for Spanish manufacturing companies.

Machinery of the Future

To complete the economic programme, an innovative presentation entitled “Machines and Industries of the Future” was delivered by David Díez, Business Development Manager at ITA, and José Manuel Olaizola, Business Development Manager at Tecnalia.

They examined the technologies and trends that will shape the future of machinery and the construction industry, focusing on the sector’s technological evolution and the role of innovation in improving companies’ competitiveness.

They emphasised that the companies set to lead the future of construction machinery will be those best able to adapt to the changes ahead, harness technology and, above all, rely on people.

Technical Forum: Knowledge to Anticipate Industry Challenges

True to its commitment to knowledge generation and support for companies, ANMOPYC once again organised a Technical Forum during the event. The programme of presentations focused on one of the issues expected to have the greatest impact on the future of the industry: the European Data Act, a regulation set to transform the management of and access to data generated by connected machinery.

The forum examined the practical implications of this new regulatory framework for manufacturers, distributors and users, highlighting the importance of preparing for its implementation and understanding the opportunities it offers to develop new data-based business models and services.

Through the sessions, attendees were able to gain first-hand insight into the scope of one of the European regulations expected to have the greatest impact on the machinery industry, as well as resolve questions related to its implementation in the coming years.

The Industry’s Social Commitment: Holystic ProÁfrica

One of the most notable moments of the day was the presentation of a €1,000 charitable donation to the Holystic ProÁfrica Foundation, demonstrating the social commitment of ANMOPYC and its member companies.

This initiative reinforces the Association’s commitment to contributing to projects with a positive impact beyond the industrial sphere, highlighting the sector’s social responsibility.

Living with Purpose: People as Drivers of Change

The day concluded with a presentation by Miguel Ángel Tobías, who delivered a talk focused on leadership, change management and talent development within organisations.

Through an inspiring presentation, he invited attendees to reflect on the importance of people as the main asset of any company and on the need to approach transformation processes from a human perspective based on trust, collaboration and commitment.

In a context marked by technological change, digital transformation and new business challenges, his presentation focused on organisations’ ability to adapt and on the role of leadership in developing teams prepared to face the future.

His message connected with one of ANMOPYC’s key objectives: to contribute to strengthening member companies not only from a technical or business perspective, but also by fostering talent development and knowledge-sharing.

A Collaborative Ecosystem Thanks to Sponsors

The General Assembly was supported by a broad group of sponsoring companies whose contribution makes the organisation and development of this annual event possible.

ANMOPYC would like to thank them for their involvement and their shared commitment to innovation, digitalisation and the development of a more competitive and connected sector.

An Assembly That Strengthens Collaboration Between Companies

Beyond the technical content and working sessions, the Assembly once again became a meeting place for the companies that make up ANMOPYC.

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to share experiences, exchange perspectives and strengthen the professional relationships that make the Association a permanent meeting point for the sector.

These networking opportunities are among the General Assembly’s principal strengths, fostering collaboration among manufacturers, the exchange of best practices and the identification of new opportunities for cooperation.

A Meeting That Reinforces Industry Unity and Its Commitment to the Future

ANMOPYC’s 46th General Assembly concluded in Zaragoza with a message of unity, collaboration and commitment to the development of the construction, public works and mining machinery sector.

The event once again demonstrated the strength of the Association as a meeting point for the industry and as a platform for enhancing companies’ competitiveness.

The Assembly also provided an opportunity to share with members the key challenges currently facing the industry and the need to continue working in a coordinated manner to strengthen companies’ competitiveness in a context shaped by technological transformation, regulatory change and the evolution of international markets.

Throughout the day, the importance of continuing to advance in key areas such as digitalisation, sustainability, internationalisation and talent development was emphasised. These are fundamental pillars for the future of the sector.

ANMOPYC would like to thank all the member companies, entities, associations, speakers and partners whose participation made the success of this 46th General Assembly possible.

Their involvement and trust reinforce the Association’s role as a driving force for unity, representation and development in the construction, public works and mining machinery sector.

With its sights set on the challenges ahead, ANMOPYC will continue working to strengthen innovation, internationalisation and the competitiveness of its member companies, consolidating a sector prepared to successfully face the future.
