The Lintec CSD2500B plant, with a capacity of up to 180 tonnes per hour, will enable expanded paving operations across the city and within a radius of up to 250 km, while also allowing the resumption of asphalt mix sales to the private sector.
The Municipal Urbanization Company of Aracaju (Emurb) has expanded its in-house asphalt production capabilities to eliminate dependence on external suppliers and to meet local paving demands. The company recently commissioned its new Lintec CSD2500B containerised asphalt mixing plant. With a capacity of up to 180 tph, the plant combines high output, precision, and operational flexibility.
The new plant is part of the Aracaju City Hall’s initiative to expand its asphalt production infrastructure, which already includes an older plant. Together, the two plants will increase Emurb’s asphalt production capacity by up to 2.5 times. The strategy is designed not only to meet the municipality’s paving requirements, but to also supply asphalt mix to private companies and projects throughout the region.

The decision to invest in batch-mix technology was made to improve control over the production process and, consequently, the quality of the asphalt mix produced. According to Diego Garcia, Operations Director at Emurb, the company had been looking for a modern solution capable of improving product consistency while increasing capacity to serve new customers. He explains that the previous plant alone was unable to meet the municipality’s demands, which often required Emurb to purchase asphalt mix from external suppliers.
“Our primary requirement was an asphalt mixing plant with a capacity of 160 to 180 tph, so that we could meet our own demand and also serve the private market. We then launched a public tender process, and Lintec & Linnhoff fulfilled all the requirements we had established,” says Garcia. “At the end of the process, we visited a similar Lintec CSD2500B in São Paulo that had been operating efficiently for 10 years. We were very pleased and confident that we had made the right investment.”
The Lintec CSD2500B asphalt mixing plant provides precise control over aggregate screening and material dosing, contributing to greater consistency in the asphalt mix produced. The model also features a dual-function drum concept, where aggregate drying and screening processes are carried out within the same system, contributing to energy efficiency and space optimisation. Its modular containerised configuration also facilitates transportation and installation.

Another feature of the CSD2500B is its Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) dosing system, which allows milled material to be reincorporated into production, reducing raw material consumption and the environmental impact of asphalt manufacturing. The plant is also equipped with four bitumen storage tanks, offering a combined storage and heating capacity of 200,000 litres, increasing operational independence.
Garcia explains that, by enhancing quality control of the asphalt mix produced in-house, Emurb will be able to offer warranties of up to 15 years on the material, which is also expected to increase interest from private-sector customers.
“The idea is not only to better serve the population, but also to generate revenue for public finances,” Garcia highlights. “This allows us to create an ecosystem where asphalt production helps fund other investments for the city.”
Local Technical Support
The assembly and installation process of the Lintec CSD2500B — one of the largest plants supplied by Lintec & Linnhoff Brasil — was closely supported by specialists from the company. The factory also conducted on-site operator training, covering plant operation procedures and preventive maintenance routines.
“We are very excited to see asphalt production begin in Aracaju with this new plant. Batch-mix technology represents a significant step forward for Emurb in terms of quality, flexibility, and production capacity,” says David Kaffka of Lintec & Linnhoff Brasil.
With its new production infrastructure, Emurb aims to combine greater autonomy for municipal paving works with broader utilisation of its installed capacity. The existing plant will remain in operation as a supporting facility, providing the company with a more flexible production structure and greater capacity to meet market demand.
