At IFAT 2016 ATLAS showed their electrically powered 250 MH E and 350 MH in the Tier IV final version in action

ATLAS GmbH again attended this year’s IFAT – the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management – which took place in Munich from May 30 thru June 03. In cooperation with VDBUM and at their stand ATLAS presented two material handing machines: a 250 MH E with electric drive and the latest 350 MH model in Tier IV final version.

This fair differs from the others as the machines are not simply stationary exhibits but instead they are fully demonstrated, showing the prospective customer exactly what they are capable of. In the open-air site ATLAS showed visitors in interesting 10-minute live demonstrations just how efficiently ATLAS material handlers operate:

The electrically powered 250 MH E, equipped with a clamshell bucket, was seen feeding material into screening equipment. The special feature of this material handler is the electric motor with low power consumption; it only needs a minimal power of 90 kW but in terms of performance it is equal to a machine with a conventional combustion engine. Optionally the 250 MH E can be equipped with a cable reel and more than 75 meters of power cable, which make it extremely maneuverable and flexible in day-to-day use.

The 350 MH in the Tier IV final version was equipped with a newly designed undercarriage with improved stability; the optimized platform provides safe and easy ascent to the machine and comfortable access to the newly redesigned cab. Due to the optimized kinematics the machine now has higher lifting capacities. Fuel consumption was however significantly reduced so that it operates on only 12.5 liters Diesel per hour.
