This year, ATLAS was again represented at the NordBau trade fair. The 70th NordBau was held from September 10-14, 2025 at the Holstenhallen in Neumünster in the north of Germany.
With around 69,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space and over 20,000 square meters of hall space, NordBau is regarded as the most important compact construction trade fair in northern Europe and the entire Baltic Sea region. Every year since 1956, exhibitors have been using NordBau to reach both the numerous trade visitors and end customers. It has a high level of acceptance and appeal for all those interested in construction and for people working in the construction industry this year around 50,000 visited the fair. In the outdoor exhibition area north and west, the full range of construction machinery and equipment for building and civil engineering activities was on display – directly, practice-based and in action. Around 700 exhibitors from 15 countries specifically focused on construction sites and presented solutions that combine efficiency, precision and sustainability.
NordBau 2025 impressed again with international visitors, inspiring encounters, and valuable conversations – a true highlight for everyone involved.
Together with our long-standing partner ATLAS von der Wehl, who organized the booth, we were able to inspire many professionals with our machines. The von der Wehl Group now employs around 290 people and, with its various branches, offers excellent customer service – going far beyond consulting, sales, and rental.
The spotlight was on the brand-new ATLAS 135Wsr – the most compact wheeled excavator in its class with a swing radius of only 1.62 m. With its redesigned comfort cabin (360° view), unique undercarriage design, quiet operation, optional four-wheel steering, and split dozer blade, it sets new standards in agility, efficiency, and comfort.
Our large selection of other excavators and versatile cranes attracted great attention at the show as well. All ATLAS machines are robust, flexible, and powerful.

Short-radius excavator 135Wsr – the most compact wheeled excavator made by ATLAS
The new short-radius excavator ATLAS 135Wsr with a tail-swing radius of only 1620 mm, a swing torque of 40 kNm and an upper carriage rotation speed of 9 rpm is the most compact wheeled excavator made by ATLAS and highlights the continuous advancement and power of innovation of the company that has been setting new standards in the construction industry for more than a century. Just as long, the name ATLAS also stands for “Quality Made in Germany”. This short-radius excavator – like any other excavator produced by ATLAS – is 100% made in Germany. The powerful diesel engine as well as all hydraulic components and axles are supplied by renowned German manufacturers. ATLAS machines feature perfect stability, enormous power and a sensitive excavator control system. Moreover, ATLAS offers a wide array of manufacturer-independent attachment tools – from a simple dipper shovel to orange peel grabs for scrap applications, ATLAS manufactures attachment tools of the highest quality.
The ATLAS 135Wsr has an operating weight of 13.9 to 15.2 tons and its compact and powerful 4- cylinder Deutz diesel engine TCD 3.6 conforming to the V emission class has an output of 95 kW at 2000 rpm, providing it with a traction of 82 kN, high load-bearing capacity, a top speed of 35 km/h, and excellent off-road mobility. In addition, it is extremely fuel-efficient. As an option, the 135Wsr can be fitted with the first split dozer blade made by ATLAS GmbH. This split dozer blade offers decisive advantages for precise and efficient operation. Since the two halves of the blade can be moved independently, it perfectly adapts to uneven surfaces. For even more flexibility, it is also available with an outrigger for confined work areas and, as the first ATLAS excavator, with all- wheel steering (4-wheel steering with serial shifting of the steering cylinders) and crab steering.

A special feature of this new compact short-radius excavator ATLAS 135Wsr is the completely redesigned cab with an even better interior configuration, more space, and a host of stowage possibilities as well as a new air conditioning. The ROPS safety cab structure (roll-over protection) allows to easily stow just the front window or slide the complete unit including the base under the roof. The working lights are integrated into the roof and the door has a sliding window. The standard equipment also includes automatic climate control, including cab dehumidification, heating and automatic air circulation for quick de-icing at the touch of a button. The ventilation flaps are operated via a menu; circulating and fresh air filters can be easily replaced and accessed from the inside. The cab is designed for extreme outside temperatures and the control of the automatic is dependent of the sunlight and the temperatures insight and outside. The ventilation inside the cab matches the highest standards in the automotive industry and provides a comfortable work environment – even for long jobs.
Besides this brand-new excavator model, visitors of the NordBau were able to also verify the versatility and efficiency of several other tried and tested ATLAS machines.
