The KARAN sprayer features an innovative automatic contour control system named EAGLE.

Combining speed and application quality

The EAGLE automatic contour control system enables the new KARAN sprayer to operate at speeds up to 25 km/h.

This advanced technology package automatically adjusts and actively controls the boom, even under changing crop conditions or varying types of terrain, situations frequently encountered during spraying operations. Highly responsive, the EAGLE system can operate as close as possible to the target to be sprayed (from 30 cm height). As a result, application height is consistently maintained under these variable conditions, even at high speeds, improving spray accuracy (optimal overlap and drift reduction) and delivering outstanding driving comfort in the field.

EAGLE also features several damping systems (such as anti-yaw), ensuring optimum boom stability, even at high speeds.

Cutting-edge technology for instant responsiveness

At the core of the EAGLE system lies an inertial measurement unit, widely used in navigation and stabilisation systems, which controls boom horizontal positioning. Combined with ultrasonic sensors integrated into the boom, which analyse terrain and crop conditions in real time, the inertial unit enables instant corrections of the boom position.

Improved comfort and accuracy

EAGLE constantly monitors and adjusts the position of the boom in relation to its target, reducing the adjustments required by the operator and ensuring superior spraying quality. Designed for all crops and field types, the EAGLE technology is available in two versions:

• EAGLE: equipped with two ultrasonic sensors, this solution automatically adjusts the height and tilt of the boom.

• EAGLE PRO: featuring four ultrasonic sensors, this advanced solution additionally adjusts the boom variable geometry, upward and downward, automatically and independently on each side.

Optionally, two additional sensors can be added to efficiently operate in irregular crops, such as row or ridge planting. These two sensors also enable optimum contour control when working with reduced widths (outer arms folded).

A protected boom for guaranteed durability

Paired with the KARAN sprayer’s axle suspension, the EAGLE technology, featuring a nitrogen-charged ball-damped parallelogram, minimises the transmission of chassis movements to the boom. The anti-yaw suspension also provides optimal damping in the forward direction, thereby preserving the boom longevity.

Headland turning is greatly simplified thanks to the H-MATIC automatic boom lift system at the headland. This system enables safe, effortless turning. It also anticipates the boom lowering before spraying resumes, helping to better control drift.
