AUTOMATIC UNLOADING OF CONTAINERS

Copal Development, headquartered in the Netherlands, develops and manufactures containerstripping and palletizing systems. With their unique and  innovative systems, containers can be unloaded without any physical effort. The load (e.g. loose loaded boxes) can be automatically palletized or automatically directed for storage and interface with Warehouse Management Systems.

Not only carton boxes, but also mixed container loads with products such as plastic and jute bags can be processed with an unmatched productivity on the Copal systems. When palletizing, every possible stacking pattern can be selected and various types of pallets can be used. The implementation of the Copal systems lessens physical strain, saves time and drastically reduces costs, making it a solid investment with a high payback.

CeMAT 2014

During the CeMAT 2014 Copal Development brings visitors up to date on the latest developments in the field of automatic unloading of containers and palletizing of goods. Visitors will be introduced to the different Copal Development systems and solutions. Live product demonstrations will be provided of their C1 Container Stripper & Palletizer at the 'Freigelände', in a tailor-made trailer. We will launch this system worldwide at the CeMAT 2014.

Product premiere C1 Container Stripper & Palletizer

Copal Development introduces the Container Stripper & Palletizer C1 at the CeMAT 2014. With this system a container full of boxes can be automatically unloaded and palletized, at an average speed of 1,800 boxes an hour. Even a top speed of 3,600 boxes an hour is possible, depending on the dimensions of these boxes. The boxes can be placed on a pallet in any desired stacking pattern, with a choice of Euro- or block pallets. Repetitive actions have been highly automated. The operator easily controls the system using just two joysticks while seated in a comfortable seat. The C1 is an intelligent machine, is solidly built and requires little maintenance. The machine can be connected to any WMS system.

Exchangeable grippers

Copal Development has developed a broad variety of grippers, making unloading of various goods possible. In order to maintain the highest production possible, the grippers can be interchanged in just a couple of minutes. In their booth in Hall 13 (A43), they will show some of the grippers (Topgripper, Multigripper and Spidergripper) in action.

Multigripper

The Multigripper is able to pick up various sizes of boxes (mixed loaded containers) automatically at the same time. Both in the vertical (y-axis) as well  as the horizontal (x-axis) direction, automatic corrections will be made. This means that boxes, which are not stacked equally in height, and wherein also the further depth in the longitudinal direction of the container varies, can be unloaded automatically
anyway.

Spidergripper

Copal Development has developed a so-called Spidergripper for the unloading of jute bags and bales filled for instance with cacao, coffee, nuts or tea. With this gripper, which can be easily connected to a Copal C2 Container Stripper, it is now possible to unload jute bags automatically. Not only does this mean a saving on time and costs, but also the heavy physical effort of employees becomes history.

Topgripper

With its strong vacuum lifting power the patented TOPGRIPPER ensures that the container is not only emptied entirely but also at an unprecedented speed. The arms can be moved independently so that height differences and other variations are compensated for without loss of lifting power. The patented TOPGRIPPER has suction cups which take boxes from a container using vacuum generation and place them on the roller conveyor. The TOPGRIPPER keeps the boxes intact and can also process boxes which have already been cut open.
