  • HARDI introduces AutoTerrainPro boom control for TWIN FORCE and DELTA FORCE sprayers, improving boom stability and reducing manual adjustments.

  • The system uses a dynamic chassis sensor and ultrasonic sensors to detect and counteract movements before they affect the boom.

  • AutoTerrainPro maintains consistent spraying height via modes tailored to soil, crop, or hybrid conditions, supported by advanced hydraulic damping.

  • AutoFold automatic boom folding is included, streamlining the folding/unfolding process and enhancing operator convenience.

A more stable boom and fewer manual adjustments make spraying easier, even in demanding field conditions. HARDI’s proactive AutoTerrainPro boom control detects movements in the sprayer’s chassis before they reach the boom. The system is now available for both TWIN FORCE and DELTA FORCE, with automatic boom folding included.

AutoTerrainPro combines sensors, a newly developed boom suspension system and proportional hydraulics to keep the boom stable and maintain the set spraying height. This helps farmers achieve more uniform spray application when terrain and crop conditions place demands on boom control.

The system is offered as an option for TWIN FORCE booms from 24 to 36 metres and DELTA FORCE booms from 24 to 39 metres. For DELTA FORCE booms, AutoTerrainPro is available on the HARDI AEON and NAVIGATOR.

Responds before movements reach the boom

A key new feature of AutoTerrainPro is a dynamic chassis sensor. When the sprayer’s wheels encounter uneven ground, the sensor detects movements in the machine and sends the signal directly to the boom control system. The system can therefore counteract the disturbance before it travels through the suspension and out to the boom.

The chassis sensor works together with ultrasonic sensors that continuously measure the distance to the ground or crop. The boom control system therefore receives information on both the sprayer’s movements and the boom’s distance from the target.

Maintains a stable spraying height in changing field conditions

The operator can choose between Soil Mode, Crop Mode and Hybrid Mode. In Hybrid Mode, the system calculates the distance to both the ground and the top of the crop. This helps avoid unnecessarily large corrections, for example in areas of uneven crop emergence.

AutoTerrainPro comes with three ultrasonic sensors as standard. Two additional sensors can be retrofitted for more demanding field conditions.

Mechanics and hydraulics working together

The boom’s centre section is designed for automatic control. HARDI’s SmartCylinder combines damping, locking, tilt adjustment and spring action in a single hydraulic unit that dampens boom movements.

A new proportional hydraulic system provides stepless control of movements and is compatible with load sensing (LS). Temperature-compensated proportional valves help deliver a consistent response from cold start to normal operating temperature.

Controlled movements limit stress on the boom and reduce the risk of ground contact. Automatic control also makes the operator’s work easier when spraying in the dark.

AutoFold included

AutoFold is included with AutoTerrainPro and automatically controls the entire folding and unfolding sequence. The operator therefore does not have to coordinate the individual steps. End-of-stroke cushioning in the folding cylinders ensures that each movement ends smoothly.

AutoTerrainPro with AutoFold is available to order now. HARDI dealers can advise on the choice of sprayer, boom and sensor configuration.
