Bomag BF 800 C-2 paver second generation model

Bomag will be launching the BF 800 C-2 paver at INTERMAT 2018 in Paris (hall 5A, stand C151). The Europe-wide market launch of the second generation is planned for May 2018. Users will benefit from new features and improvements, such as the highly efficient 140 kW engine complying with Tier 4 final, with intelligent engine management and an ergonomic driver's position with patented Bomag Sideview system. Second generation BF 300-2, BF 600-2 and BF 700-2 asphalt pavers are already available.

On motorways or on runways for commercial aircrafts, the Bomag BF 800 C-2 paver, has an output capacity of 800 t/h and excellent pre-compaction of up to 94 per cent, making this the ideal machine for demanding road construction projects. A powerful and economical 140 kW Deutz engine (190 PS) drives the track paver. The compatible screeds S 500 (basic width: 2.5 to 5 m) and S 600 (3 to 6 m) can be set to a paving width of up to 9 or 10 m. Compared to other mounting systems on the market, paver crews are back on the road in half the time thanks to Bomag’s Quick Coupling attachment system. This saves time and money on every construction project!

Fast screed heating system, large screed plate

Contractors will also save time on site with the innovative Magmalife heating system. This heating screed technology from Bomag uses electric heating elements which are embedded in aluminium. Because of the good heat conductivity, the screed plates heat up quickly and evenly to the operating temperature in just 25 minutes. Magmalife is 25 percent faster than conventional screed heating systems.

With the screed plates, Bomag also ups the ante: The screed plate depth of 400 mm and the overall weight of the basic screed S 500 of  3,900 kg optimise the floating characteristics of the screed. They provide perfect conditions for high pre-compaction of up to 94 per cent with the powerful tamper and vibration units on the BF 800 C-2, the frequency being infinitely adjustable. The surface quality and evenness when laying asphalt are highly impressive. In addition, larger screed plates wear more slowly, increasing service life significantly.

Shifting sideways for a clear view

How does the operator keep an eye on the key areas? The patented Bomag Sideview system is the solution: The seat and operating console on the BF 800 C-2 form a single unit, which means the entire driver’s stand can be moved sideways to extend up to 60 cm beyond the machine. This gives the operator a clear view of the machine edge, the 7.3 cubic metre hopper, the auger and the screed, and when loading, he is able to maintain visual contact with the truck driver.

In addition, there is an ergonomic operating console which can be adjusted in height and features clearly and logically arranged controls. Conveniently, every function has its own switch; nothing is hidden within menus. These operating ergonomics ensure that the machine operator can concentrate fully on precision work, and new staff members can handle all the technological systems on board after a short induction.

Clean and fuel-efficient

The new engine meets the Tier 4 final exhaust classification, providing contractors with the investment security they need. In addition, an intelligent engine and hydraulic management ensures that the fuel requirement is reduced by up to 20 percent. Bomag Ecomode keeps the readily available power reserves in check, always optimised according to the specific demands, thus considerably reducing the noise and exhaust emissions of the paver.

Smooth material transfer from the truck

The BF 800 C-2 features a shock-mounted bumper roller to allow the truck to dock smoothly. Shock absorbers and integrated rocker guarantee an even material transfer. These features are the basis for the superb paving quality of the BF 800 C-2.
