Bridgestone Americas Honored As Supplier Of The Year At Annual FCA US Qualitas Awards Event

Company recognized for operational excellence, commitment to quality and innovation

Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) today announced that it earned the Chemical Quality Supplier of the Year Award at the fifth annual FCA US LLC Qualitas Supplier Awards ceremony in April. The company was recognized for its role as a chemical commodity supplier that consistently exceeded FCA US expectations by delivering quality and warranty, as well as for its collaborative approach to sharing innovations in rolling resistance technology.

“At Bridgestone, we are committed to working with our automotive manufacturing partners to provide the highest quality products and solutions that reflect their focus on sustainability and innovation,” said Mike Martini, President, Original Equipment, U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Divisions, Bridgestone Americas. “We are honored to be recognized by FCA US, and look forward to continuing to serve our manufacturing partners through the kind of innovative product development and performance that exemplifies the Bridgestone brand.”

The Qualitas Awards recognize production and non-production suppliers that demonstrate operational excellence, and also demonstrate strong corporate values with leadership in areas including diversity, innovation and sustainability. The awards program is conducted by FCA US, the seventh-largest automaker in the world, and focuses on supplier relations to foster more positive, mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

Bridgestone was recognized based on an evaluation of its External Balanced Scorecard (EBSC) performance in 2014, as well as input from FCA senior leadership for delivering a Quality EBSC rating of 100 percent. FCA also acknowledged the company’s collaborative approach to sharing innovations in rolling resistance technology, in addition to its commitment to acting with integrity and leadership.

Bridgestone has a long-term commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable mobility. The company launched its flagship Ecopia line of fuel-efficient tires in 2009, and has continued to introduce new innovations that offer lower rolling resistance and improved performance in subsequent years. The Ecopia tire line also moves Bridgestone closer to its long-term environmental vision of achieving a 50 percent reduction in CO2 emissions by the year 2050 and beyond. In April 2015, the company launched the latest and most advanced replacement tire in its Ecopia line of fuel-efficient tires, the Ecopia EP422 Plus.
