Bronto Skylift is proud to unveil the new product generation with the introduction of the first model, the S70XT1-J, which will be showcased at the Bauma exhibition in Munich in April. The new XT generation continues to build on the brand´s renowned standards of usability and high quality. In addition to the S70XT1-J, Bronto Skylift is excited to announce the concepts of two additional models at the exhibition.

“The new product generation design will help us guarantee an even higher product quality throughout the product lifecycle with increased performance, usability, reliability and serviceability.” Tommi Ekman, VP Technology.

Performance wise the S70XT1-J represents the pinnacle of Bronto aerial platforms’ evolution. The rigidity of the boom structure has been increased, while improving performance without compromising the user experience Bronto operators have come to appreciate. The XT is a solid combination of the best features in older generations, complemented with practical improvements customers have been waiting for.

Best in class with heavy loads

The new S70XT1-J features a 39-meter maximum outreach with 120kg and 33,2 meters with full 600kg cage load - making it the best in its class with heavy loads.

“Our industry often emphasizes the maximum outreach, but in reality, aerial platforms are rarely used with minimum cage load and maximum outreach. Based on the data we have, the reach with bigger cage loads as well as the rigidity and stability are more crucial and something our customers greatly value.” Dominik Keller, Director, Access.

In addition, the S70XT1-J has a 3-section cage boom providing 25 meters of up & over reach – almost 10 meters more than the older generations. Large jib boom movement and +/-220 degrees cage rotation provide a flexible working envelope for versatile operations. The cage load sensor is more accurate and robust, new outrigger sensors are integrated to hydraulic cylinders and overall placement of sensors have been re-considered for added reliability. Functionality is improved with standard option interfaces, modular cage structure with different openings and railings, 5 cage load options and, of course, the trusted Bronto+ control system providing smooth movements and reliable outreach regardless of weather conditions.

As Brontos have a very long lifespan, the serviceability has not been forgotten in the design. For example, the modular cage design enables easier repair in case railings are damaged and the overall accessibility to hydraulic components has been improved. More reliable sensor technology and protected sensor placement reduce the overall service needs and lower the total cost of ownership. All this adds up to superior usability in real-life worksite conditions – over all a dependable performer that delivers precisely as promised. The first XT units will be initially available in Europe and will be rolled out to other markets in the coming years.

Fully electric Bronto for Rohr AG

The first fully electric Bronto will also be displayed at Bauma. It’s an S56XR mounted onto a custom-made MC500E 8x2R chassis from Designwerk Technologies - the experts in electric trucks for special applications. The aerial platform’s software has been modified to fit an electric PTO and to save energy during operation to enable longer working periods. The unit will be delivered to a Swiss company, Rohr AG, after Bauma. Being in business since 1930 Rohr AG is one of the oldest companies specialized in cleaning windows and façades operating in the whole of Switzerland.
