CBI will be on hand to formally unveil a new indoor material recovery facility for LEDR Recyling (Landfill-Environmental-Diversion-Reclamation) on March 27, 2015. The open house event precedes CBI’s participation at the 2015 C&D World Exhibit and Conference (Booth 713) from March 28 – 31 in Nashville, TN.
For nearly 20 years, CBI has provided construction and demolition (C&D) recovery facilities with innovative material processing systems and the CBI stationary system at LEDR Recycling is no exception. LEDR Recycling’s 35,000 square-foot facility is strategically located within the St. Louis Metropolitan area and is expected to process over 50 tons of throughput per hour, 5-6 days a week. The system features a specialized CBI Magnum Force 5400 Stationary Downswing Grinder as LEDR Recycling will downsize all of its handpicked wood to produce a premium end product that opens up multiple markets. Grinding the processed material allows LEDR Recycling to maximize the pay load for transportation as well. Bulky materials such as half sheets of plywood and 2x4s can now be consolidated and loaded into a trailer at full capacity. The horizontal feed of the CBI 5400 allows longer pieces to be processed quicker.
“We’re building a more cost-effective package for electrical stationary 5400s,” said CBI Stationary Systems Manager Matt Skinner. “By removing a lot of costly and complex hydraulic systems which are more portable-related, you take significant costs out of the 5400, which allows the grinder to fit into stationary applications better from a price and maintenance perspective.”
CBI will meet with representatives from within the C&D industry at C&D World 2015 to explain why the LEDR Recycling material recovery system was designed the way it was and what it’s expected to accomplish. For over 13 years, CBI has been a registered member of the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) as it works to promote and defend the importance of recycling C&D material through environmentally-friendly applications. CBI is also sponsoring the CDRA Fundraiser for the sixth consecutive year at C&D World.
“It’s pretty impressive what we have going on this year,” said CBI Stationary Systems Engineer Tim Griffing, who currently serves on the CDRA Conference Committee. “Everybody is going to get another chance to interact with their existing contacts and meet potential prospects. It’s a great place to network because the ‘Who’s-Who’ of the C&D industry are all under one roof.”
