Terex CBI and Ecotec Machines Impress at COMPOST 2017 Demo Day

COMPOST 2017 was a success for anyone interested in learning about the Terex CBI and Ecotec product ranges. For three days, the Terex CBI and Ecotec booths caught the attention of new and established companies focused on composting, organics, land clearing, recycling, and mulch production.

They came to the right place.

“Trade shows like COMPOST 2017 provide a tremendous opportunity to connect with current and future customers and discuss equipment solutions for their businesses,” said North American Sales & Marketing Director Art Murphy. “Someone might come to the show with an idea of how they see a grinder, screener or windrow turner fitting into their operation. These kinds of shows provide a place to have discussions and identify exactly what CBI and Ecotec equipment can do to help bring their business to the next level.”

After hearing about industrial wood grinders, trommels, windrow turners and other equipment for three days, guests had the chance to see the difference for themselves at the demonstration site on January 27th. In partnership with Powerscreen of California and Hawaii, Terex CBI and Ecotec products put on a show. Industrial wood grinders lined the ridge end-to-end at the Lopez Canyon Compost Facility, but onlookers regularly stopped in place to admire the performance of one grinder in particular: the CBI Magnum Force 6800BT Horizontal Grinder.

Living up to its promised power and efficiency, the CBI 6800BT produced a constant, streaming arc of ground wood waste with unmatched production. Its 60-inch wide cleated discharge conveyor sent processed material flying. The sheer distance of the product coming off the 6800BT’s discharge belt was enough to stop guests as they walked past. People spent the morning and afternoon sessions watching the machine grind as fast as it could be loaded, and after grinding down its allotted pile, it even took leftovers from nearby machines.

“The best part about these shows is that the machines speak for themselves and we welcome the opportunity to go head to head with the competition in a live demo,” said Murphy. “Customers see for themselves why the 6800BT is the heavyweight champion of wood waste grinders. Nothing beats seeing one of these machines run in person and afterwards climbing up on it and take a closer look.”

The Phoenix 3300 Trommel Screen’s robust design also stood out as it was demonstrated in the trommel group. It produced massive stockpiles of high quality end product, showing in both sessions why it’s the most versatile and productive trommel screen on the market today. So versatile and productive that the equipment demo host, Lopez Canyon Compost Facility, owns three Phoenix 3300s.

Later in the afternoon, with more than a hundred industry professionals looking down from the ridge, the Terex Ecotec TWT 500 Windrow Turner’s sleek and modern design turned heads before it even got going. It had no problem tearing through a row of wet compost with the gentle turning of its patented rotor system, discharging it behind the machine as an aerated, bulked and well-mixed end product. Advantages of the TWT 500’s economic and mobile design were not lost on spectators who gathered to get a closer look shortly after the demonstration.

With COMPOST 2017 in the books, plans are already in motion to take the Terex CBI and Ecotec live equipment demo to the next level for COMPOST 2018.
