On 28th September CECE Secretary General Riccardo Viaggi took part in the 1st High Level Construction Forum to present the DigiPLACE project as the pathway towards the digital transition of the construction ecosystem.
The Forum, organized by European Commission’s DG GROW, is launched as the successor to the Construction 2020 initiative. The High Level Construction Forum’s mission is to provide a platform for the construction ecosystem to co-create and implement a transition pathway towards a green, digital, and resilient construction ecosystem to contribute to wider EU goals. The realisation of that mission is the design of a roadmap outlining targets and actions.
Riccardo in his intervention underlined the importance of the cooperation between the different stakeholders behind DigiPLACE. The DigiPLACE project partners were from academia, public authorities and a strong representation of the industrial ecosystem. Riccardo also stressed that DigiPLACE, as a framework allowing the development of future digital platforms as common ecosystems of digital services, can lead towards digitalisation and platformisation of the construction ecosystem.
DigiPLACE is an ambitious attempt to enable the creation of a digital platform to integrate different technologies, applications and services in digital construction, and could potentially be an EU wide reference for creating digital platforms for construction.
