CLAAS Presents the DISCO 1100 TREND Mower with 10.70 m Working Width

A high level of efficiency is required for the intensive utilisation of grassland. During unfavourable weather, the quality of the silage is often dependant on speedy harvesting.

With the DISCO 1100 TREND, CLAAS presents a new mower, which guarantees a high level of efficiency in grassland farming thanks to its ease of operation and a particularly wide working width of 10.70 m.

The new mower is based on the DISCO 1100 C BUSINESS. Introduced last year and with the same working width, this is the most efficient mounted mower conditioner on the market. With the addition of the DISCO 1100 TREND, CLAAS now offers this mower without the conditioner and with simpler operation – making it ideal for farmers who rely on the use of their own equipment for grassland farming.

Long-Term Technology

The DISCO 1100 TREND mower combines a high level of efficiency with simple, and therefore very reliable, long-lasting technology. Its means of operation are purely mechanical except for one electronic control terminal, via which various functions such as the individual raising of mower units can be selected. All other functions are easily controlled by the operator using the tractor's spool valves, meaning that the mower is ideally suited for use with simply equipped tractors of 160 hp and above.

The mower works using the tried and tested MAX CUT cutter bar and ACTIVE FLOAT support system. Using the ACTIVE FLOAT system, the operator can adapt the bearing pressure of the two mower units at any time during operation and react to changing conditions. As with all DISCO mowers, optional skids and high-cut or double high-cut skids are available so that the cutting height can be changed. The favourable transmission ratio of the gears also allows the mower to be operated at a reduced speed of 850 r.p.m., which significantly reduces diesel consumption.

Collision Protection

The long service life of the DISCO 1100 TREND is ensured by a wide range of protective devices. In the event of a collision, the SAFETY LINK overload protection protects the cutter bar drive. The hydraulic non-stop break-back safety device offers additional protection for both mower units. The rams are activated at a specific pressure and the mower unit is swivelled backwards and upwards. Due to the constant oil pressure in the system, the affected unit is then swivelled back into working position after the obstacle has been passed.

Compact Road Transport

Despite the wide working width, road transportation is not a problem. The telescopic arms easily move the mowing unit into a vertical position behind the tractor. The safety guards are automatically folded away to the side or upwards. As a result, the tractor/mower combination is also safe for road travel, manoeuvrable and compact during transport, and still measures less than 4.0 m in height and 3.0 m in width. It can also be parked in the transport position.

Coupling and de-coupling is particularly easy. The DISCO 1100 TREND mower, just like other DISCO models, is equipped with KENNFIXX hydraulic couplers. A magnetic holder ensures that the hydraulic hoses are stowed away securely and protected in the parking position.

It is also possible for the mower to be equipped with LED working lights.

New 50 Series Trailed Mower

CLAAS has also added a new addition to the 50 series trailed mower range, the DISCO 3150 TC FLAPGROUPER, which features a new design and is equipped with the MAX CUT cutter bar. In addition, it also features two long, hydraulically controlled swath formers, which enable a double swath to be created, which is approximately 3.0 m in width. This makes the swath ideal for harvesting machinery fitted with a wide pick-up. This procedure is widely established in France.

For rear mowers in the 50 series, CLAAS also offers two new options. As with the CONTOUR series, a stable parking device is now also available for the simpler models. This means that the mower can be easily parked on a storage frame in its transport position. Another new feature is the modern headland limiter for models without a conditioner. This means that lifting is automatically limited by a hydraulic valve and the height is determined by the operator via a slotted hole.
