STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM hearing protectors enable duplex communication at conference level
On construction sites, coordination with colleagues is particularly important to ensure safety. At the same time, a hearing protection is indispensable for users of gasoline-powered equipment. With the ADVANCE ProCOM smart hearing protectors, STIHL now offers an innovative product solution that combines both requirements: The integrated conference system enables direct connection of up to 16 headsets in duplex communication at conference level. At the same time, the high attenuation value (SNR 31) of the earmuffs and an active noise suppression protect the user from engine noise and allow pleasant communication, even in noisy environments. The distance between two devices may be up to 600 meters. At the same time, each headset acts as an amplifier within the conference system and increases its overall range. Hand-held radio telephone sets can as well be integrated into the communication via Bluetooth. Pairing the user's smartphone with the headset is also possible thanks to the Bluetooth feature. This solution allows users to make phone calls or stream music without having to pick up their smartphone. An integrated radio provides entertainment if that does not collide with the specific work situation. The innovative communication hearing protection STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM is available both as a hearing protection bracket and as a retrofit solution for helmet sets. A lithium-ion battery ensures long operating times. Nothing stands in the way of use in wet conditions either, as the ear muffs and the battery are suitable for use in the rain.
The details at a glance:
Secure and convenient communication
The new hearing protection solution STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM features a conference system that enables a direct duplex connection of up to 16 headsets: This means that users can talk and hear at the same time without additional devices and thus communicate with each other safely and comfortably even in noisy environments. The range between two appliances may be up to 600 meters. At the same time, each headset acts as an amplifier within the conference system, increasing its overall range by up to 600 meters each. A range alarm ensures that a user is warned in good time if his headset threatens to lose the connection to the other participants. If required, hand-held radio telephone sets can be integrated into the system via Bluetooth. The user's own smartphone can as well be connected to the STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM via the Bluetooth interface. This feature allows the user to make phone calls or stream music, for example, without having to pick up the smartphone.
Intelligent noise protection
With a high attenuation value (SNR 31), the STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM reliably protects against the engine noise of gasoline-powered equipment. In addition, the earmuffs have got an active noise suppression and thus enable conversation even when the chainsaw is active. Yet conversely, thanks to the ambient hearing function, the user can hear warning calls without having to remove the hearing protectors. In addition, a radio is integrated into the headset. The intelligent audio function ensures that incoming radio messages are prioritized and heard by the user. The power supply is provided by a lithium-ion battery, which allows operating times of up to 17 hours. The new hearing protection from STIHL is complemented by an automatic switch-off function: Empty batteries due to the fact that you forgot to switch them off are now a thing of the past.
Intuitive operation
The STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM earmuffs are equipped with ergonomic buttons that are haptically distinct from one another and can be operated reliably even when wearing gloves. Their assignment follows a simple logic, ensuring intuitive operation even under harsh conditions - and since the earmuffs and their electronics and battery are protected from moisture, there is nothing to stop them from being used in the rain. If required, the "STIHL ProCOM" control app also allows users to adjust the headset settings to their personal needs via smartphone.
