  • JENZ introduces the HEM 5400 Z and HEM 5600 Z PTO chipper models, expanding its product portfolio in the lower performance segment.

  • The HEM 5400 Z succeeds the HEM 542 Z, while the HEM 5600 Z fills a gap between compact and mid-range chippers for tractors up to 420 hp.

  • Both models feature a redesigned infeed geometry with a bottom roller and an aggressively designed top roller for effective material infeed.

  • The adjustable pre-grip system (20-42 mm) and proven D-series rotor enhance shredding quality and chip removal.

  • Maintenance is simplified with a fold-out platform, integrated railing system, and ergonomically positioned toolboxes.

  • The JENZ Professional-Days 2025 highlighted the company's focus on practical solutions, customer dialogue, and innovation in wood processing and mobile biomass technology.

With the new HEM 5400 Z and HEM 5600 Z PTO chipper models, JENZ is expanding its product portfolio specifically in the lower performance segment - and demonstrating that compact machines with a well thought-out design and a high level of technical equipment can also fulfil demanding professional requirements.

While the HEM 5400 Z is designed as the successor to the tried-and-tested HEM 542 Z, the HEM 5600 Z closes a gap that previously existed between compact and mid-range chippers - especially for more powerful tractors up to 420 hp. Both machines are based on a low, service-friendly design that is ideal for municipal applications, contractors and in-house mechanisation.

At the centre of the technical development is a completely redesigned infeed geometry, which is equipped with a bottom roller as standard for the first time. In combination with the aggressively designed top roller, an effective, continuous material infeed is guaranteed - even with voluminous or heterogenous material. The draw-in-widths of 800 mm (HEM 5400 Z) and 1,000 mm (HEM 5600 Z), each with a draw-in-height of 700 mm, increase the throughput capacity.

A particular technical highlight is the adjustable pre-grip system (20-42 mm), which allows precise adjustment to the type of material, moisture content and power requirement. The rotor is based on the proven D-series and is characterised by smooth running, high shredding quality and very good chip removal. A maximum pregrip of up to 42 mm is an outstanding unique selling point in this performance class.

JENZ also relies on robust, mechanically proven technology in the discharge area. The mechanical discharge ensures an even flow of material, regardless of whether it is loaded onto small dumper trucks or high vehicles, e.g. forage wagons.

Access to the rotor and screen unit has been significantly simplified thanks to a fold-out maintenance platform with integrated railing system. Newly designed toolboxes - each ergonomically positioned - offer practical storage space for replacement tools and wear parts directly on the machine.

This has also made maintenance and service access much easier and safer.

It is operated via the intelligent easy2advanced control system, which boasts features such as the Chipper Feed Assistant (CFA) and the IPS system for recognising foreign objects.

The HEM 5400 Z and HEM 5600 Z are positioned below the well-known mid-range models HEM 583/593 Z, but are clearly aimed at professional use: contractors, local authorities and forestry and agricultural businesses with existing tractor technology receive two fully-fledged professional machines that are characterised by their cost-effectiveness, modular technology and maintenance-friendly design.

These two models not only close a strategic gap in JENZ's own portfolio - they also create a new class of machine that combines compact dimensions with professional standards.

Conclusion: JENZ Professional-Days 2025: Focus on expert dialogue and innovation

The JENZ Professional-Days 2025 left a lasting impression - not only through the machines and technical developments presented, but above all through the consistent focus on practical solutions and the open exchange with customers.

The machine manufacturer from Petershagen positioned itself not only as a developer of high-performance technology, but also as a reliable partner for practical applications.

In numerous demonstrations and discussions, it became clear that JENZ actively seeks dialogue with customers, dealers and specialists - with the aim of taking existing requirements and translating them into well thought-out, application-oriented product solutions.

This two-day event provided the perfect setting for this. In addition to technical innovations, the focus was on efficiency, ease of use and adaptability to various application scenarios. The high number of visitors and international interest emphasise the importance of the format within the industry.

Petershagen once again became the meeting place for wood processing and mobile biomass technology specialists - and JENZ showed itself to be a company that takes current market requirements seriously and consistently transfers them into the further development of its product lines.
