Mecalac announces the official introduction of its latest patented innovation, CONNECT. CONNECT is a unique quick coupler system which is remarkable for its perfect safety and its optimal productivity. CONNECT is launched first on the New 12MTX – 10 tons wheeled excavator.

Mecalac was the first manufacturer to equip its machines with a quick coupler system as standard. Determined to make its machines safer and safer and more and more versatile, it boasts full reversibility of attachments at the same time. Mecalac now introduces a new quick coupler system that can be operated from the cabin. With the CONNECT quick coupler, the loss of an attachment is virtually impossible. It’s the safest and most performing quick coupler system on the market.

Safety, fool proof

The buckets and various Mecalac attachments are fitted with a “hanging system”, whose hook shape enables the coupling by 2 pins, already integrated at the end of the Mecalac boom. The pins carrying out this coupling function are positioned at the end of the stick and the external pin of the bucket connecting rods. A hydraulic cylinder connecting these 2 pins enables the coupling (cylinder out) or the release (cylinder in). The shape of the hooks is conceived to prevent the pin attached to the tool from dropping off as long as the tool is suspended. As soon as the tool is raised from the ground, it cannot drop, there’s no risk of loss. Moreover, a detection system enables the driver to check the proper coupling of the tool and to get information without having to leave the cabin (visual and audible alarm). The permanent control of the distance between the 2 pins is made without any adjunction of electronic system.

Extremely simple to use, the CONNECT quick coupler allows to pick up attachments in both directions. Consequently it’s also the lightest coupling system on the market.

The easy way to pick up all types of attachments, buckets, shovels, loading forks or hydraulic attachments, makes the CONNECT quick coupler a simple and intuitive solution. Easily comprehensible, it offers a direct view onto the bucket, no matter in what position.

CONNECT is maintenance-free, – no additional greasing systems needed – it assures less risk of failure and less time dedicated to the maintenance of the machine.

CONNECT provides a natural reversibility of attachments: no additional parts needed to enable the turnaround of any working tool.

It’s a convenient system, efficient and perfectly integrated with the Mecalac boom. Consequently it’s also the lightest coupling on the market. The weight of the previous Mecalac quick coupler has been reduced by 70%. Mecalac has decided to convert this gain of weight to increase the volume of its digging buckets by 10%, which in turn means higher productivity!

CONNECT is a 100% Mecalac solution: machine, equipment, quick coupler and buckets are designed and produced in-house at the French factories of the Mecalac Group.
