The Supervisory Board confirmed the extension of the board member contracts at its meeting on 20 June 2017. “The Management Board chaired by Andreas Schmitz has handled the first complete business year after the generation change successfully,” emphasises the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Prof. Jürgen Kluge. For this reason, it is important to ensure that the management team and the company share a long-term perspective.

The financial expert Andreas Busacker (52) initially studied industrial engineering at TH Darmstadt along with several study semesters in the USA. Between 1991 and 1996 he led the Capital Markets, Risk Management and Investor Relations departments at Wella AG. He then became CFO at Nordenia International AG, which has belonged to Mondi AG since 2012. From 2005 onward, Andreas Busacker was Finance Director with responsibility for departments including Finance, Legal, Tax, Controlling and IT. He joined Schmitz Cargobull in April 2015.

After completing his engineering degree, Andreas Klein (51) began his professional career as a management consultant. In 1998, he joined ZF Lemförder, a technology company specialising in vehicle chassis, where he ran the factory development department for the commercial vehicles division in Lancaster, South Carolina (USA). In the following years, Andreas Klein held positions such as the Head of Quality Management for the ZF Lemförder Group, where he was able to expand the area of process consultancy. He began gaining his initial experience in China in 2006. Here he restructured a passenger vehicle component manufacturer and was then responsible for the passenger vehicle axle systems in the Asia-Pacific region. In January 2015, Andreas Klein joined Schmitz Cargobull AG as a board member.
