and “IPAF Safety Champion” with Mauro Potrich of CTE

Two years after IAPA Awards victory with B-Lift 20.13 Multipurpose as Product of the year, now CTE is in the final 2013 edition with 2 nominations: “Product of the Year – Vehicle mounted” with the truck-mounted platform ZED 20.2 H and “IPAF Safety Champion” with Mauro Potrich, safety and quality manager of CTE and chairman of the Italian TWG.

Winners of this edition will be announced at the awards ceremony on March, 26th in Miami, USA.

FOCUS ON: NOMINATE OF TRUCK-MOUNTED ARTICULATED PLATFORM ZED 20.2 H

CTE decided to nominate the aerial truck-mounted platform ZED 20.2 H, that is an evolution of the previous model ZED 20 CH with even more "tailored" performances for operators and more "work Becomes Easy," the CTE  philosophy. As used in the most famous companies that deal with technology, ".2" is to indicate the development and upgrading of  a previous model, with the clear of continuous innovation. This is a project that has taken shape for the first time with the study and implementation of ZED 21 JH (21 m of working height, 300 kg capacity, compact, user friendly technology), introduced last April 2012, and now is evolving to other models, thanks to the great experience of the CTE technicians who use increasingly advanced building technologies and the latest materials.

Zed 20.2 H means 20mt of working height, and .2 is for the evolution of the new octagonal design of the boom made with a new material, Docol 1200 M high strenght steel, to obtain a favorable relationship between performance and weight. This change was made both for telescopic boom and pantograph and has allowed to obtain a larger cross-section and further stiffness in the arm, without exceeding the permissible total weight. In fact, with an assembly of 3.5 ton vehicle CTE was able to obtain a working outreach of 9.2 m and especially with a loading capacity of 300 kg in the basket (with optional load cell) throughout workspace, which allows to use the machine with a great scope (2 operators and work material). Without loading cell option, the loading capacity is 230 kg. ZED 20.2 H is the only one platform in the license B sector offering these performances. Another important characteristic of this machine is the stabilisation with H shape (vertical stabilization). The great advantage of this system is that the maximum width of stabilization is decreased favorably - compared to the previous version - from 3200 mm to 2930 mm, and the ability to stabilize even in the presence of high gradient (sidewalks, ramps or uneven surfaces up to 220 mm). In addition, the system allows to perform H stabilisations with millimeter precision. Technically, this type of stabilization works with drive rods: a system patented by CTE that consists in the emission of the beam simultaneously with the stabiliser in a single movement, without the aid of jacks. This, for the operator, means simplicity and speed of execution. For this model, CTE has also prepared a new version of stabilization in alternative to the standard: a variable hydraulic stabilising system which consists in the possibility to choose between 4 areas of stabilisation, narrow, large, reduced to the right or reduced to the left. This system allows the operator to stabilise with a single command in small spaces and then to have more advantages compared to other machines with single stabilisation. Specifically, the narrow stabilisation offers the possibility to work in restricted spaces such as for activities to be carried out on roads (public lighting) or in outdoor pruning. With stabilisation reduced to the right or left, the platform allow to operate in the center of the road, or at public areas or condominium and in congested spaces.

The working area is unique: this makes it ideal for the rental sector, because there’s no difficulties for the rental.

Presenting a product with these characteristics, CTE will confirm itself as an industry always attentive to customer needs and improving the work at height safely, assuming an increasing role as a reliable partner for the category of hirer and for all those who work at height.

FOCUS ON: NOMINATE OF MR. MAURO POTRICH IN “IPAF SAFETY CHAMPION”

Since 1981, year of foundation of the company CTE SpA, which produces and commercializes worldwide access equipment, Mr Mauro Potrich have always been involved in safety and quality department. Since 2002, CTE SpA has been associated with IPAF and together with JLG Italy have been promoted the training of MEWPs operator and IPAF Training Centre. From the beginning, he was always active in promoting IPAF in Italy and operators training. He actively worked with Gerard Hillebrand in the organization of trade fairs and seminars and as Chairman of the Italian TWG.
