DEVELON drew extremely positive conclusions after NordBau 2025. In particular, the quality of the discussions held over the five days of the trade fair significantly exceeded expectations. The construction machinery on display showcased the broad portfolio of the South Korean manufacturer, which was able to further expand its market share in Germany this year for the third year in a row.

In January 2023, Doosan was renamed DEVELON. The words “develop” and “onwards” set the direction for the future. The products and solutions have been an integral part and a magnet for visitors to the VON DER WEHL Group's stand for decades. This time, several innovative solutions were presented, with a focus on the new 23 to 26 ton models in the -9 series, which were very well received by trade visitors. Six exhibits illustrated the wide range of DEVELON products. A seventh exhibit was placed in front of the main entrance of the Holstenhallen Neumünster to attract the attention of the public. Visitors to NordBau were greeted by a DX140W-7 mobile excavator with digital environment detection to increase work safety.

Digital tools for significantly greater safety

The DX260-9 crawler excavator was presented at the trade fair stand, marking the first time a model from the new 9 series had been shown in northern Germany since bauma. The DD130 crawler was also to be seen, which scores highly in terms of adaptability and performance and is suitable for a wide variety of construction tasks. The DL200-7 wheel loader demonstrates high productivity with low fuel consumption. The DX100W-7 mobile excavator in the 10-ton class stands for maximum stability and first-class operator comfort, while the DX27Z-7 mini excavator is perfect for inner-city construction sites and landscaping. “Our highlight and absolute crowd puller was the DX140RDM-7 demolition excavator, which is based on a 14-ton short-tail excavator,” reports DEVELON Sales Manager Marc Glesius. “This machine already attracted a lot of attention at bauma. The DX140RDM is a highly exciting machine, especially for inner-city demolition work, because it is easy to transport and therefore requires significantly less administrative effort,” says Glesius.

Visitors to the trade fair stand were also very interested in the many digital functions of the 9 series. This is hardly surprising, as surround view, Smart AVM, radar-based person detection, and a virtual wall that keeps the machine within bounds speak for themselves. When a person approaches the crawler excavator, depending on the distance, driving and slewing are first slowed down and then stopped completely as the person gets closer. There is currently nothing comparable on the market in this product class. DEVELON regularly sets new standards for the industry, particularly in the area of safety. The fact that the operator has always been the focus of attention in the development of new machines for years is now paying off. “In the cab of our 9 series, the operator has plenty of space and a very good overview. Everything is designed and set up with the user in mind,” enthuses Andreas M. Lohner, Managing Director of DEVELON Mannheim and DEVELON Sales Manager for the DACH region. He would particularly like to thank the management team, including Reinhard von der Wehl, Florian von der Wehl, and Volker Schulze, as well as Kai Winkler and Ronald Figiel and the entire strong VON DER WEHL team for their commitment, many years of outstanding support, and good partnership, and for once again showcasing DEVELON solutions in such a grand manner at NordBau.

The current economic situation in Germany is challenging for all market players, but Lohner is nevertheless optimistic about the coming months. He would like to thank all customers and DEVELON DACH dealers for their continued commitment, which has enabled DEVELON to further expand its market share in the DACH region for the third year in a row. This has already been achieved in 2025 at this point in time. “Users are clearly convinced by our products with their modern little digital helpers because they create real added value,” says Lohner. Since the rebranding, DEVELON has been moving forward as planned.
