DOLL establishes new record – Who offers less?

For many years DOLL has been designing trailers as lightweight construction and sets milestones for the whole industry. This kind of technology leadership is also appreciated by long-term customer Schlichtherle (Ellwangen, Germany). Since 2013, the company has owned a fifth-wheel superstructure mounted on MAN truck type TGX 26.540 with Epsilon crane type Q170Z96 which has now been complemented by a 2-axle semi-trailer LOGO 20. One typical feature of LOGO semi-trailers is the usage of high quality fine grained steel and selected components made from aluminium. In this way, an overall concept with a dead weight of only 19,44 t has been realised which is a premiere for DOLL.

The trailer manufacturer achieved this record by fundamentally improving the whole steel construction concept as well as by optimizing the weight of parts. However, DOLL’s engineering team wants to remain the future trendsetter for timber transport and is therefore preparing the next steps to further optimise their lightweight concept to provide higher payloads.
