The DEVELON DX140LCR-7 reduced tail swing crawler excavator delivers more power and maneuverability for tight worksites. The machine is one of the next-generation -7 Series crawler excavators that were released mid-2022 and is on display in booth F9153 this week during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023.

The innovative -7 Series machines deliver the fuel efficiency and productivity that operators need to complete the work of today and prepare for the challenges tomorrow brings. With more comfort features, intelligent controls and smart machine functionality, operators can handle whatever comes their way.

With its shorter machine length and reduced tail swing counterweight design, the DX140LCR-7 excavator delivers the power and maneuverability customers need for working in confined areas. It’s ideal for digging and lifting tasks on roadways, bridges and urban jobsites. Superior hydraulics deliver powerful arm and bucket forces, and a one-touch power boost momentarily amplifies hydraulic power as needed for more difficult digging conditions.

It features a high-performance DEVELON diesel engine, standard arm configuration and four power modes. Customers can add an optional dozer blade for quick backfilling and added digging stability.

In-Cab Enhancements

A spacious cab offers excellent visibility. Plus, there is automotive-style heating and air conditioning and an optional heated and cooled seat. A complete, sound-isolating cabin seal reduces the noise inside the pressurized cab to an extremely low level. The cab frame and seat are designed to absorb vibration.

The multi-function Smart Touch screen displays all useful information in a visual and intuitive format. An ergonomically designed joystick offers low-effort control to help reduce operator fatigue when working with hydraulic attachments.

Smart Technologies

There is a long list of machine technologies included on the DX140LCR-7 excavator.

  • The Electronic Power Optimizing System (EPOS) and the exclusive Smart Power Control (SPC) optimize machine performance while improving efficiency.

  • The optional 360-degree all-around view monitoring (AVM) provides five unique visual perspectives around the cab from the monitor for improved jobsite awareness.

  • An auto shutdown feature saves fuel and helps lower warranty hours.

  • The standard telematics system monitors the excavator’s health, location and productivity.

Upgraded Features

The DX140LCR-7 offers additional capabilities to tackle new jobsite hurdles. A fine swing function delivers greater control and accuracy in certain lifting applications by reducing the shaking of the lifted object. The upgraded, cast push link includes a five-metric-ton lifting capacity. A larger hydraulic PTO (power take-off) pump improves performance of excavator attachments that require more hydraulic flow.

The machine is engineered for long life, with durable components that include an extra-strong X-Chassis undercarriage and robust working group. It offers easy maintenance access with centralized boom and arm grease points.
