Challenging tasks require experience, precise planning and reliable equipment. Especially highly concentrated loads such as the 360 ton generator stator recently moved in the El-Tebbin power plant in Egypt by heavy haulage specialist ETAL (Egyptian Transportation and Logistics) demand highest performance. ETAL delivers this performance for over 20 years now and relies on vehicles made by SCHEUERLE, member of the worldwide leading TII Group. The many features the PowerBooster technology offers – such as self-propelled driving modes and more – give ETAL a headstart in the North African market.
With a length of 10.747 meters, a width of 5.390 meters and a height of 4.42 meters the stator easily fit onto the 3-file SCHEUERLE InterCombi PowerBooster. The vehicle was driven under the jacked up load precisely and picked up the load on steel bolsters, controlled by experienced ETAL engineers who guaranteed a safe and controlled transport situation at any time, despite obstacles like manholes that had to be covered with steel plates or pipe racks that made lowering the trailer necessary. Once arrived at the installation site, the stator was brought into its final position to be skidded into its mount.
“ETAL has tremendous experience in moving critical loads throughout North Africa. If ETAL relies on our equipment it’s safe to say that it’s perfectly tailored to the North African markets demands, where reliability, robustness and precision are required in equal shares” says Ajanthas Kumarathas, Area Manager Sales at TII Sales.
About the InterCombi PowerBooster: InterCombi platform trailers have been designed to deal with the challenge of both long-distance transport on the road and special operating conditions. The modular design provides an extensive selection of transportation solutions which are based on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8- axle platform trailers. These can be coupled both longitudinally and laterally which comes in handy at port transport operations with limited space. With a steering angle of 60°, the InterCombi is suitable for the safe transport of heavy loads and offers sufficient reserves through the robust construction of the frame, also with extreme loads. As an extension of the InterCombi series, the InterCombi PB (Power Booster) is available which is equipped with activatable drive axles. If the driving speed drops under a certain level, the integrated PowerPack will deliver additional thrust, saving a second tractor during transport under certain circumstances. Also, the InterCombi PowerBooster can be driven as a self-propelled vehicle via remote, which makes positioning the load in narrow spaces particularly easy.
