Fendt 1000 Vario wins three awards in the Czech Republic

The TECHAGRO, one of the biggest agricultural and farming trade fairs in Europe, was held in Brno, Czech Republic from 3 to 7 April this year. Some 800 exhibitors from 40 countries presented a total of 1,125 brands. The focus of this year’s trade fair was on precision farming, i.e. the use of new technologies in agricultural production. Accordingly, the Fendt 1000 Vario was able to impress visitors as well as experts and win three awards.

Machines that have significance for the international agricultural equipment market are honoured with the “Grand Prix”. An international jury of five selected 59 submissions from nearly one hundred. Of these, 13 received the Grand Prix this year.

The jury explains its choice of the Fendt 1000 Vario:

“The Fendt 1000 Vario tractor represents the class of the most powerful universal wheeled tractors. With this machine, Fendt opens a completely new power segment of classic wheeled tractors with a power output of up to 500 hp. The Fendt 1000 Vario is the first tractor with a design based on a low-speed engine – the Fendt iD low engine speed concept and the innovative Fendt VarioDrive.”

“We are pleased that the Fendt 1000 Vario was able to convince the experts,” says Peter Mikulas, General Director of the Czech Fendt Sales Partners Agromex s.r.o. “We are looking forward to the first field operations of the world’s biggest standard tractor. In April, the first machine will be found in operation on our fields.”

People’s Choice Award: Fendt 1000 Vario is also “Tractor of the Year” in the Czech Republic”

The readers of the Czech agricultural journal “Zemědělský týdeník” were able to cast their vote for the choice of the ”Tractor of the Year”. The farmers, operators and agricultural equipment fans clearly chose the Fendt 1000 Vario as their favourite.

“This choice shows that many farmers in the Czech Republic had already informed themselves about this tractor and have the utmost confidence in it,” says Vitezslav Chrapavy, Fendt factory representative for the countries Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Silver medal for the modular tank system on the Fendt Katana 65

Additionally, a commission of four journalists from the weekly newspaper “Zemědělský týdeník” also gave the modular tank system on the Fendt Katana 65 a silver medal. The new modular and robust plastic construction saves weight. Customers can choose between a 1225-l diesel tank with 205-l DEF tank or 1010-l diesel, 205-l DEF and 215-l water or additive tank.

Agricultural journalists choose the Fendt 1000 Vario

And the Fendt 1000 Vario garnered the third award. The “Zemědělec” trade journal chose the Fendt 1000 Vario as the “Machine with a very wide range of applications for agricultural production”.

This honours the biggest standard tractor, which is predestined for operations on the road as well as in the field. For high-horsepower tractors, in particular, the design benefits of a standard tractor really count, e.g. high manoeuvrability and visibility, high ride comfort in the field and on the road, variability regarding tyres and hitch systems and countless areas of application.

About the TECHAGRO 2016 trade fair

The TECHAGRO is held on the grounds of the Brno Exhibition Centre. In addition to the exhibition halls, it also covers green spaces, parking areas and a temporary hall with 5000 m² of extra space.

Thanks to the new supporting programme, which focuses on diverse topics in farming and forestry, the number of visitors increased in 2016. More than 110,000 visitors attended the TECHAGRO over the five days of the trade fair.
