SBS targets growth with new appointment
London, 1 February 2012 - International supply chain solutions provider SBS Worldwide has appointed Lee Hackney as General Manager of its northern UK business.
Mr Hackney, who will be based in Manchester, will become a key member of SBS Worldwide’s UK senior management team.
He will support the further development of the company’s fast growing northern UK business’s ability to analyse, design, implement and operate end-to-end supply chain solutions that give customers a competitive advantage over rivals.
Mr Hackney will also lead the expansion of the company’s northern UK business, which
offers sea freight, air freight, European distribution and customs brokerage, into new markets
and industry verticals.
SBS Worldwide Group Chairman Steve Walker said: “Lee is the latest recruit to the UK senior management team tasked with ensuring SBS continues to offer clients a complete supply chain package that can reduce costs, increase margins and make sure that shelves are always stocked with product.”
He added: “Over the past few years, SBS’s northern UK business has benefited from impressive growth, which is down to the quality of staff we have within the company. “Lee will play an important role in ensuring that we maintain this momentum - it is only by recruiting and retaining the best staff in the industry, that we can offer our customers the award winning services we do.”
Lee has previously worked for Kuehne & Nagel, holding various UK management positions, deepsea carrier CMA CGM, where he was Operations and Logistics Director UK and CP Ships, where he was European Customer Service Director.
