Fuse Connected Services – directly connected with the service partner

As part of the “Fuse Connected Services”, agricultural enterprises will be able to connect with their AGCO/Fendt dealers via the AgCommand telemetry system and take advantage of numerous benefits. It provides an unprecedented wealth of information to support farmers and contractors in managing and monitoring their fleet of agricultural machinery. Among other things, this minimises downtimes, saves money and shortens working time.

As part of the Fuse Strategy and AgCommand fleet management, AGCO not only provides solutions and interfaces to connect agricultural machinery within an agricultural enterprise and the farm manager's computer – as part of the “Fuse Connected Services”, AGCO/Fendt dealers will also be able to connect with their customers and form an effective, continually growing partnership. That allows users to save time and money and increase the profitability of their farming enterprise. As soon as the AGCO/Fendt dealer sets up AgCommand fleet management for his customer, the prescribed interval service is already made available to the fleet management based on “Fuse Connection Services”. With this connection, dealers have access to the application data and analyses of their customer’s machines, as long as this is permitted by the customer. AgCommand not only delivers the position and operating status of the agricultural machinery working in the field or moving from one job site to another. Error messages from the vehicle’s system can also be read out and made available through the AgCommand portal. Dealers are in the position to log malfunctions directly and remedy problems on the machines professionally, quickly and efficiently and therefore shorten or prevent downtime.

“Fuse Connected Service” as a successful extension to the Star Service contracts

Furthermore, dealers can offer their customers advanced services via “Fuse Connected Services”. For example, these could include operator training, machine maintenance, software updates or a pre-harvest check for combines. Comparisons of diesel consumption and output per hour between different machines can also be performed easily and quickly using the analyses. With the customer’s permission, an AGCO/Fendt dealer can transfer the exact same view their customers have on their Fendt tractor’s Varioterminal to his office computer. If necessary, he can then bring improvements to the attention of the farmer and optimise settings faster. Dealers, however, cannot make changes themselves.

“Fuse Connected Services” is an ideal extension to the StarService contracts already available on the market today, where, amongst other things, all prescribed interval measures for Service and Maintenance work are agreed upon, allowing full cost monitoring.

AgCommand provides API interface for other manufacturers

AgCommand is the central data portal for all AGCO machines and provides an API interface (application programming interface). Telemetry portals from other manufacturers can integrate this in their system to enable the use of data from AGCO vehicles. Furthermore, the use of the familiar software already being used in the business is possible, if it is supported by an AgCommand API interface. In a first step, the Trimble Connected Farm has been integrated.

Iridium satellite network prevents downtimes

The communication between AgCommand and the machine takes place via the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), a normal mobile phone network, as standard. With the aid of an Iridium satellite network, it is possible to continue to communicate in real-time, even when a GSM connection fails, so quick business decisions can be made. Switch over is automatic. Customers can profit from fast and effective assistance for problems or questions and can minimise downtimes.

The Fendt C, X and P-Series combines are equipped with the fleet management system as standard. AgCommand can therefore be activated and put into operation at any time. At the Agritechnica 2015 in Hanover, the Fendt 1000 Vario will be standard-equipped with a new kind of telemetry hardware, which offers a seamless connection and advanced options.
