The series includes three models with line pulls of 12,000 lb, 27,000 lb, and a class-leading 35,000 lb capacity, offering flexibility and high lifting power in a compact design.
Legacy meets innovation with the new Gearmatic GM Series of hydraulic planetary hoists. This performance-driven lineup engineered for demanding dredging, fishing, and drilling applications includes the GM12, GM27, and GM35, developed through close customer collaboration to address real-world operational challenges while improving serviceability, safety and installation flexibility.
Built on a platform of durability and operator-focused design, GM Series hoists incorporate crowned planetary gears for quieter operation, higher efficiency, and longer service life. Sintered bronze brake discs ensure smooth engagement, even after extended storage, while providing improved heat dissipation and high-speed reverse performance. Stainless steel drum seal lands deliver exceptional corrosion resistance in harsh environments.

Installation versatility is a defining feature of the GM Series. Models support multiple mounting orientations, with indexable breathers allowing 360-degree positioning and hydraulic motors featuring symmetrical ports for easier rotation changes across different equipment layouts. The hoists can be installed using industry-standard mounting patterns in either overwound or underwound configurations, with the ability to route rope beneath tie plates to keep lines closer to the deck, improving operator safety on vessels and rigs.
Maintenance efficiency was a primary design objective. Each hoist features a standard sight glass for quick oil inspection, and the line is designed to reduce service and maintenance time by up to 50% with no special tools required. Readily available parts and responsive technical support further minimize downtime.

The GM12 provides a 12,000 lb rated line pull. The GM27 delivers 27,000 lb (approximately 7% more than comparable models), while the GM35 introduces a new benchmark as the first planetary hoist in its class rated at 35,000 lb, offering high-capacity lifting in a compact, cost-effective package.
With multiple drum sizes, equal-speed and high-speed reverse options, and a modular design philosophy, the GM Series gives equipment manufacturers, vessel operators, and contractors a flexible, service-friendly hoist platform engineered for demanding field conditions.
