Goodyear announces the launch of Goodyear TPMS Connect, an innovative solution designed to address the challenges faced by fleets with pre-installed tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). This new offering allows fleets equipped with OEM TPMS on their new vehicles to benefit from Goodyear’s solutions and applications that enhance overall fleet efficiency without the need for additional hardware installation.

The launch of Goodyear TPMS Connect is timely, aligning with the latest EU TPMS regulation which mandates that all new motor vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses, and vans, be equipped with TPMS that can accurately measure and transmit tire pressure information to the driver.

Many fleets are equipped with standard TPMS by original equipment manufacturers (OEM), which typically could restricts alert visibility to drivers only. This can potentially limit fleet back office's ability to respond promptly to tire issues, potentially leading to costly downtime and maintenance. Goodyear TPMS Connect addresses these shortcomings by providing a seamless, plug-and-play solution that integrates with existing telematics TPMS hardware. Goodyear's solution can leverage the existing TPMS hardware and enhances them by providing comprehensive data access and intelligent fleet management capabilities.

Key Benefits of Goodyear TPMS Connect:

  • Seamless Integration: Connects effortlessly to existing telematics TPMS hardware, eliminating the need for additional hardware or SIM cards.

  • Rapid Onboarding: Fast vehicle onboarding over the air (OTA) without vehicle downtime for installations, with connection to the Goodyear Cloud within 24 hours.

  • Enhanced Data Access: Provides fleet operators with predictive and prescriptive alerts, enabling data-driven decision-making.

  • Comprehensive Visibility: Offers GPS tracking and geofencing capabilities to enable efficient and targeted location based servicing.

  • Intelligent Analysis: Utilizes advanced algorithms to analyse TPMS data and deliver actionable insights for proactive monitoring and maintenance.

Goodyear engineers have specifically designed a suite of algorithms, branded as G-Predict technology, which can identify potential tire incidents before they escalate, helping ensure the vehicle remains operational and minimizing downtime.

"We are thrilled to introduce Goodyear TPMS Connect, a solution that empowers fleet operators with insights and control over their tire management," said Piotr Czyżyk, Managing Director, Fleet Mobility EMEA at Goodyear. "This innovative technology helps enhance the efficiency and safety of fleet operations and represents our commitment to driving forward the future of intelligent mobility. We look forward to expanding its availability and helping more fleets achieve optimal performance."

Currently, Goodyear TPMS Connect is available for a selected range of new trailers coming from Original Equipment Manufacturers, allowing early adopters to experience the benefits of enhanced tire management and fleet optimization. Recognizing the diverse needs of fleet operators, Goodyear is committed to expanding the availability of this innovative solution across a broader spectrum of vehicles in the near future, ensuring that more fleets can leverage its advanced capabilities for improved performance and efficiency.

Goodyear will present TPMS Connect at the upcoming IAA Transportation event, where attendees will have the opportunity to see firsthand how this advanced solution can transform fleet management. Company experts will be on hand to demonstrate the seamless integration capabilities and discuss the benefits of proactive tire maintenance.
