Great Interest in Huddig’s LIFT 2200 at Bjurfors Days Event

Bjurfors Days (Bjurforsdagarna) which took place from June 16-17- was the Electric Power Industry’s competence event in Avesta, Sweden.
The event was attended by power company representatives and exhibitors included power line equipment suppliers. During the two-day event there were seminars with practical demonstrations. Huddig showed a CABLE machine equipped with a Huddig LIFT 2200 LWI.

The latest product from Huddig, LIFT 2200, has been designed based on customer needs and wishes and includes several interesting new features. The lift is stronger and more stable with a proprietary boom system, a working height of 22 meters and an increased lifting capacity. LIFT 2200 is also available with LWI-equipment (Live-Line Work Insulator) for live work on high voltage, which is increasingly in demand from power companies.

Some power companies today own their own insulated aerial devices mounted on trucks. One of the problems with that solution is limited accessibility. Often a HUDDIG machine is needed to take the truck into the forest. In this situation a HUDDIG with the LIFT 2200 LWI is an unbeatable concept! A HUDDIG has unique off-road capabilities that mean you can get through practically anywhere. With a HUDDIG you can do the job easily, quickly and securely, using only one machine, one driver and required line men.

“Bjurfors Days is the right forum for us at Huddig,” said Per Söderström, design engineer at Huddig AB. “Here we can meet exactly the right people –purchasers from the power companies who employ our customers.”

It’s all about increasing the knowledge of our customers so that they understand how much more cost effective it is to hire a contractor who drives and operates a HUDDIG compared to another machine.

The advantage of equipping the lift with LWI (Live-Line Work Insulator) equipment makes it possible to work safely with high voltage, live line work, without having to cut the power to the lines. This can facilitate maintenance and repair work on power lines.

A further advantage of HUDDIG is that it is available with a crane mounted on the loader, allowing the machine operator to perform several tasks with the machine which would normally require multiple machines and multiple people.

Huddig’s new lift has been well received in the market and the interest has been great.

Three weeks ago the first LIFT 2200 LWI mounted on a HUDDIG 1260C was delivered to a customer in Norway and more are due to be delivered over the next few days.

“The industry has been waiting for this so we are confident that demand will increase further, now that the machines are beginning to be seen in operation with our customers,” says Per Söderström.“ The new lift is primarily sold mounted onto new machines, but it can also be retrofitted on the existing HUDDIG 1260C (from serial number 5230).

Bjurfors Days (Bjurforsdagarna) is organized by STF Engineering Education (STF Ingenjörsutbildning) who train technicians and engineers.
