Great news to start the New Year – RUTHMANN receives 4 million Euro order from GERKEN

Towards the end of 2013, Gerken GmbH decided to invest the lion’s share of its 2014 budget in our world-renowned RUTHMANN truck mounted aerial work platforms.

The total value of the contract is worth more than € 4 million and includes the full range of STEIGER ® models ideal for rental companies.  Gerken has ordered a number of STEIGER ® TBR 220 models with movable jib (RÜSSEL ®) and several performance champion STEIGER ® TB 270 models featuring a working height of 27 metres.  These highly successful models are mounted on 3.5 t chassis.

Gerken has also ordered several STEIGER ® T 330 models. The T 330 is the current performance champion on a 7.49 t chassis. Various models in the HEIGHT performance series (with 18 t, 26 t, and 33 t chassis) are also on order. Gerken customers will have access to an even greater variety of high performance work platforms with working heights in the 38 – 63 m range.

Gerken GmbH is one of the leading work platform rental companies in Europe and the global leader in the large-scale work platform category (over 60 m). In 2012 and 2013, Gerken ordered several RUTHMANN models in this category, including the T 460, T 540, and T 720 of the HEIGHT performance series.  Established over 50 years ago, this successful German rental company has a nationwide network of rental locations in Germany, Holland, and Spain. Gerken now has more than 4,200 machines in its rental programme, including a wide variety of special work platforms.

In 2012, GERKEN became one of our first customers to take delivery of the new HEIGHT performance STEIGER ® T 460 (pictured here), mounted onto a MAN all-wheel drive chassis.
