Based on the traditional “absolution” of apprentices by the master craftsman, Peter-Josef Paffen, Chairman of the AGCO/Fendt Management Board, dismissed all 44 trainees, who successfully completed their training at the Marktoberdorf location in 2015, into their future career. For most of the new apprentices, this continues to be closely connected with the tractor manufacturer Fendt.
Together with their parents and partners, the 25 industrial mechanics, seven mechatronics fitters, seven industrial clerks, three IT specialists as well as two warehouse logistics specialists looked back on their three eventful years of training. The celebration took place in a grand and festive setting, accompanied by music from the Marktoberdorf wind ensemble. The trainees Maria Tschipper and Markus Lihs presented the highlights of their time as trainees in a humorous lecture: “Trial by Fire”, about how they actively supported the opening of the new tractor factory in 2012, at the beginning of their training. They reminisced about the trainee icebreaker activities, the regular trainee football tournaments as well as their stays abroad, which opened a whole new Fendt world for the young people.

AGCO Training Award

Johannes Pietsch (3rd place, industrial mechanic at the Asbach-Bäumenheim site), Philipp Mariner (2nd place, industrial mechanic at the Marktoberdorf site) and Johannes Jäger (1st place, also industrial mechanic in Marktoberdorf) received the AGCO Training Award for their exceptional commitment and outstanding achievements. The award-winners received a gift of money and Johannes Jäger can also look forward to continued education funded by AGCO. The AGCO Training Award has been awarded since 2009 and is recognition for special achievements.

Wishes for the future

The Chairman of the Management Board, Peter-Josef Paffen, and all the trainers congratulated the graduates and wished them the best for their future. To make sure these wishes reach the right addresses, the trainees wrote theirs on cards and sent them into the sky via “airmail”. A colourful bunch of balloons filled the autumn sky above the Fendt Forum, where the celebration came to a cheerful end with a three-course dinner.
