KTEG GmbH, a joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd and Kiesel Technologie Entwicklung GmbH, developed the ZE225 2PB.
One of the exciting zero-emission innovations to be presented by Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) and KTEG at Bauma this year is the 25-tonne ZE225 battery-powered electric excavator.
By entering this weight class, KTEG and Hitachi are widening their portfolio significantly to provide zero-emission solutions for a wider range of applications. The ZE225 2PB (two-piece boom) has a modular battery system that offers up to 400 kWh capacity and a design concept that makes it ideal for cable operation. This set-up meets the demands of zero-emission job sites as it ensures the availability of the machine for an entire day, even on demanding, high-output construction sites.
In addition to the reduced noise level of the new excavator, operators will benefit from exceptional comfort, as it shares the same high-quality features and the same level of hydraulic performance of conventional models.
“We look forward to presenting the ZE225 2PB at Bauma as an innovative zero-emission solution that has been designed to meet the industry’s growing need for emission-free powered machinery,” says Harald Thum, KTEG Managing Director.
This zero-emission machine has been developed by KTEG GmbH, the joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd and Kiesel Technologie Entwicklung GmbH.
