Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV and KTEG are exhibiting the KTEG 890LD-7 at Bauma. The 90-tonne high-front loading shovel excavator is the largest machine on stand FN.716, and has been developed exclusively by KTEG, the joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd and Kiesel Technology Entwicklung GmbH.

Built for the toughest environments, the KTEG 890LD-7 is particularly suited to quarry operations, excelling in the efficient loading of loose material. Its robust design and reinforced components ensure durability and longevity, even in the most demanding working conditions over years of operation.

Designed for maximum productivity, it has short cycle times and benefits from the improved efficiency of the Hitachi HIOS V hydraulic system that reduces fuel consumption. Low noise and vibration levels in the cab provide a comfortable and productive working environment for operators. Safety around the machine is ensured by the visualisation of the surrounding area by the Aerial Angle camera system and LCD monitor.

A new standard for heavy-duty operations

The seamless integration of Hitachi technology – including continuous monitoring with ConSite Oil sensors, and the ConSite Pocket app for remote fleet management – ensures minimal downtime and a reliable, high-performance operation. The KTEG 890LD-7 on display at Bauma will be fitted with a bucket from Locmatic.

The KTEG 890LD-7 is a perfect example of how KTEG plays a key role in expanding Hitachi’s product range. Thanks to KTEG, a tailored solution was brought to market by combining the proven Hitachi Zaxis-6 front equipment with the latest Zaxis-7 upper structure, ensuring compliance with the newest emission standards. While the market for such machines was too small for Hitachi alone, the collaboration with KTEG made it possible to fill this niche again.

“With unparalleled efficiency and reliability, the KTEG 890LD-7 sets a new standard for heavyduty operations,” says Harald Thum, KTEG Managing Director.
