Hydro Deck Leading Hand awarded Smarter Safer Stronger award

ALE’s Australia branch has awarded Hydro Deck Leading Hand, Scott Goddard, with the Smarter, Safer, Stronger award.

Scott, who has been working with ALE since 2014 firstly as a Trades Assistant before being promoted to Leading Hand, is currently working on the Hydro Deck to perform module load-ins for the Ichthys Onshore LNG Facilities Project in Darwin, Australia. Scott was nominated by his peers on the Hydro Deck for promoting a safe work culture and his willingness to go above and beyond the normal expectations of his role.

The Smarter, Safer, Stronger award is an internal employee award scheme in Australia, that was launched in February 2015 to identify and recognise when ALE employees demonstrate any of the company’s core values and go above and beyond what is requested. ALE employees are nominated for the quarterly award by the senior Australia management team who they believe embodies the ‘Smarter, Safer, Stronger culture based on their safe behaviour, efficient work or innovative actions.

Paul Kelly, Director – Australia who presented Scott with the award, said: “Scott was selected out of a set of peer nominations as the recipient of our Smarter, Safer, Stronger award for his efforts in driving a safe working culture on the Hydro Deck. We are very proud and his actions set the bar for best safety practice.”
