Innovation at Intermat - RUTHMANN HEIGHT performance STEIGER T 540 with genuine off-road capabilities.

RUTHMANN will be presenting its newest innovation just in time for the Intermat trade show held in Paris, France from April 20th to 25th, 2015. The well-known German aerial work platform manufacturer will introduce its STEIGER ® T 540 mounted on a VOLVO FMX all-wheel, 4-axle chassis to an international audience for the very first time.

Because of the outstanding performance capabilities, the HEIGHT performance-STEIGER ® T 540 – winner of the prestigious IAPA Award – has been extremely popular since it made its first appearance in November, 2012.  The T 540 has exceptional reach capacity when working up high and can be mounted onto many different types of chassis/models. Now, its performance capacity has been further enhanced.

Mounted on an all-wheel drive, 4-axle, 32 t VOLVO truck, the HEIGHT performance-STEIGER ® T 540 is able to tackle the toughest assignments at construction sites and in rough and uneven terrain.

For these extreme working conditions, RUTHMANN has designed and developed a sturdier base frame that can be easily installed thanks to the flexibility of the truck chassis design. The VOLVO FMX is the perfect match for the STEIGER ® T 540 and guarantees amazing off-road capabilities and optimum handling. The driver’s cab is well-designed, spacious and extremely comfortable.

The VOLVO FMX has a sturdy exterior, specially designed air suspension, and hydraulically steered leading/ trailing axles that enable the RUTHMANN STEIGER ® T 540 to navigate safely on unpaved roads.

The long-stroke outriggers have been extended by an additional 100 mm. The additional length maximizes stability on uneven ground. This off-road model has an impressive horizontal outreach of 40 m in a swing radius of almost 360 degrees, regardless of the payload (up to 600 kg) in the work cage.
