INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA: Focus on events at the trade fair

Four days of debate and discussion on the topics of greatest interest for the entire handling, warehousing and internal logistics sector. Prestigious national and international speakers and important representatives from the world of third level education will participate in the events.

Four days of highly professional meetings, the best speakers and the most topical and interesting issues related to the sector are the main ingredients of the conference calendar for the second edition of INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA 2018, which will take place at Fiera Milano-Rho from May 29th to June 1st 2018.

The heart of innovation in the Italian factory is moving from production to logistics. It is one of the great revolutions of Industry 4.0. Interconnectivity between systems determines the quantity of information obtained from the production phases of a good and all stages of its sale and it is here that the difference can really be made. Speedy delivery, punctuality and customer service have become the judgement criteria for considering a buying experience to be positive or negative. It is no longer enough to produce well. On the contrary, the guarantee of personalised service has become fundamental. Logistics, therefore, is becoming the area in which to improve quality in a company's actions.

The exhibition will open its doors on May 29th 2018 at 11.30 in the Martini hall at the Stella Polare Conference Centre with the inauguration ceremony of The Innovation Alliance entitled "DRIVING THE CHANGE - How the new industrial era is changing processes and professions". The new industrial era is already a reality. The competitiveness and the future of companies depend also on a capacity to adapt to new standards of production, business and communication. Digitalisation and sustainable innovation, client orientation and even more personalised solutions have modified production methods forever. How can we guide this change and not become overwhelmed by it?

The Innovation Alliance inauguration will give voice to institutional and industrial worlds. The key moment of this event will be a round table between several production sectors (food, furniture and design, e-commerce) through open comparison between managers who will find new impetus and opportunities for developing their business in the innovative powers of the technology on exhibition. A ribbon cutting ceremony will follow.

At INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA 2018 AISEM - the Italian Association of Lifting, Elevation and Handling systems - allied with ANIMA – the Federation of National Associations - will meet with companies, suppliers and buyers throughout the days of the exhibition to discuss the revolution under way and the most topical issues related to the sector.

There will be three conferences promoted by the partnership between the Confindustria association and this unique sector exhibition in Italy.

Transformation of logistics in 4.0 terms: an important requirement for Intelligent Factories". - 2pm, May 29th 2018 at the Spazio Gallileo/Sala 1 - will involve international and national speakers. The General Secretary of FEM, the European association of handling and logistics Oliver Janin will speak about the topic "Industry 4.0 in Europe in terms of cyber safety and cyber security". The event "How to fully use hyper and super amortisation for Logistics also in 2018", related to opportunities tied to budget legislation, will be organised by Anima Confindustria and the certifying body ICIM. Gabriele Caragnano of PWC will help the audience to "Rethink logistics in 4.0 terms: solutions and strategies". These experts will be flanked by the entrepreneurial skills of Swisslog Italia and Cooperative Ceramiche Imola.

The conference "How logistics is changing with the advent of e-commerce. Technology, warehouses and distribution interconnected in production and in b2b" - 10.30am, 31st May 2018, Spazio Galileo/Sala 1 - will go in depth on the theme of online purchases with Confindustria Digitale and the Milan Polytechnic. It will also be an occasion to hear about the experiences of Microsoft and several manufacturing companies such as Sharp and Caljian Rite-Hite.

"Continuously more energy efficiency also for logistics" 10.30am June 1st, Spazio Galileo/Sala 1 - is the title of the last series of conferences, which look at the challenge of generating greater efficiency and using renewable resources that are increasingly related to warehouse management. The need to activate optimisation plans dedicated to all components in the logistic phase is growing fast. Gabriele Caragnano of PWC will speak about this topic in his presentation entitled "Logistics at the centre of the technological evolution of companies". He will be followed by Vittorio Chiesa, professor at Milan Polytechnic, who will give a presentation called "Energy in companies between efficiency and renewable resources also for logistics". Case history presentations from companies such as Automha, Linde and Dematic are also scheduled.
