The specialist for tyres, wheels and axles for professional applications

The core business of the company traditionally centres around selling and providing consultancy on tyres and wheels for professional use. The core areas are supplying tyres for earthmoving and construction site vehicles, as well as for those used in agriculture. Bohnenkamp has the full range of tyres for all vehicles in stock in warehousing covering 85,000m2. Additionally, the specialist with over 60 years of experience also offers complete axle systems and spare parts from the quality manufacturer, ADR.

In all areas, Bohnenkamp attaches particular importance to providing a comprehensive and professional service. To this end, there are over 50 employees on hand to provide telephone support and a further 15 who serve as the customers' local point of contact. "Measured by warehouse space, goods' turnaround and service density, we are the leading marketer and distributor of commercial vehicle and agricultural tyres in Europe today", commented Michael Rieken of the Board of Director on the current status of the company.

One of the broadest EM tyre segments in Germany

Bohnenkamp's OTR range encompasses every type of tyre fitted on vehicles used for earth-moving, transportation, loading and lifting, as well as all kinds of construction site jobs. The product range also includes tyres for dockside forklifts and transport cranes. The EM range has now been expanded to include almost 200 different tyres. In addition to this, there are over 100 different tyre sizes and tread patterns for construction site and transport vehicles available directly from stock. With the traditional Alliance and BKT brands and the EM products from Windpower that were introduced into the product mix last year, Bohnenkamp is able to offer its customers a huge choice of tyres to satisfy every need.

The EM tyres supplied by Bohnenkamp offer impressive value for money too. Customers of the Osnabrück company benefit both from BKT and Windpower's many years of experience manufacturing steel-belted radial EM tyres and from a purchase price that is well below that of the conventional tyre brands. As a result, their tyres are a real alternative for vehicles in the medium-duty segment.

A strong partner

The company was founded in 1950 by Friedel Bohnenkamp in Osnabrück, about 150 km south of Hamburg. Today, Bohenkamp AG employs over 220 staff at four sites in Germany (Osnabrück, Leipzig, Kletzin and Landshut), as well as at subsidiaries in the Netherlands and Slovakia. The total turnover of the Group in 2012 amounted to 215 million euros.

At Bohnenkamp, cutting-edge logistics and personal service compliment each other perfectly. There are 50 employees on hand at the Service Center for providing telephone customer support, and 15 area managers to look after customers locally. They all have excellent product knowledge and receive on-going training. The modern logistics system ensures that orders are shipped to the customer within 24 hours. To ensure this, in 2012 the inventory at the main warehouse in Osnabrück alone amounted to approximately 1.2 million parts with a value of around 30 million Euros, and around 45,000 tonnes of goods were dispatched in 1,500 shipments per day. As a first step, Bohnenkamp recently expanded their total warehouse space to 85,000 m². A further increase to 100,000m² is planned by the end of 2013.

Axles as an effective addition to the service

In addition to tyres, as a system provider, Bohnenkamp is able to offer its customers a comprehensive solution system. Under the motto "at home under the vehicle", axles made by ADR, as well as springs, brakes and connectors as complete systems complement the range of pre-assembled wheels.
