JCB completes safest site dumper range with 3-tonne launch

JCB is introducing front and swivel-tip 3-tonne capacity site dumpers. They complete a line-up that runs from 1-tonne high-tip to 9-tonne forward-tip machines and that includes the new 6T  Hi Viz model and the 7-tonne Hi Viz, the industry’s safest site dumpers. The 3-tonne models benefit from an easy to operate hydrostatic driveline and use the same all-steel construction as JCB’s larger models. A two-year manufacturer’s warranty is included as standard, demonstrating JCB’s confidence in the build quality and durability of the dumpers.

The 3T-1 FT and 3T-1 ST models feature a dual centre-pin articulation joint, with hydraulic hoses safely routed through the centre. JCB has improved service access on the machines, with a tilting seat base and an opening rear grille putting regular maintenance items within easy reach from ground level.

The two machines are powered by a naturally-aspirated EU Stage 3A diesel engine, delivering 27.4kW (36.8hp). The operator’s seat is equipped with an engine start inhibitor and a high-visibility lap belt, for operator comfort and safety.

Optional front and rear working lights are available and the 3-tonne machines are road-light ready from the factory, with the necessary wiring harness in place for optional dealer fitment. JCB’s LiveLink telematics system is also available on request, providing customers with security, productivity and maintenance benefits.

Safety benefits for 1-tonne model

JCB’s 1-tonne capacity 1T-1 HT is also being updated to the 1T-2, with a move to a Stage V certified diesel engine. The compact machine adopts a similar two-pin articulation joint as the 3-tonne models, along with the same heavy-duty, all-steel construction as its larger stablemates.

It will also benefit from a number of operator safety improvements. This includes JCB’s Drive Inhibit feature from the company’s 6-9 tonne models. This prevents the machine being operated without lap belt engagement, while there will be an audible movement alarm alerting bystanders to any imminent machine movement. The machine is now available with the option of full TwinLock acting on both front and rear wheels for maximum traction and braking effort. A new lockable parking brake switch will become standard fitment, making the JCB 1T-2 the safest 1-tonne site dumper on the market.
