Against the backdrop of recent growth of the far eastern Russian economy, investment has been burgeoning in the construction, mining and road construction sectors, expanding the use of construction and mining equipment. As a result, it has become urgent to facilitate the growth of engineers and mechanics for those sectors. PNU, one of the largest higher education institutions in the region, has been making great contributions by producing qualified mechanical engineers. Together with them, Komatsu believes it should be able to make social contributions toward the further growth of the local economy.
Specifically, Komatsu is cooperating with PNU to open a laboratory for the Construction and Road Buliding Machinery course (enrollment of about 80 students), lend equipment for use in teaching and training, establish a special course of construction equipment to be taught by Komatsu engineers, and accept training of instructors at Komatsu plants in Yaroslavl, Russia and in Japan.

[Outline of the Cooperation]

Area: About 300 square meters
