GPS-based Headland Management for Seeding Combination u-drill

With the GPS-based headland management of the u-drill, GEOLIFT, all the individual implements of the u-drill can be controlled individually one by one. This not only facilitates the handling of the machine but also optimizes the accuracy of sowing.

Up to now, it has not been possible to control the individual sections of the seeding combination one by one and independently from each other. The whole machine used to be lifted or set down simultaneously loosing precious metres. Due to the irregular starting and stopping of the machine, overlapping seeds and bad spots occurred between the field and the headland. This is now history!

GEOLIFT

Due to the intelligent combination of GEOCONTROL and headland management in one software, an exact timing of the control processes has been achieved.

GEOLIFT takes over the lowering and lifting of the individual working tools during the passage. The soil working implement, the packer for re-consolidation and the coulterbar are lifted automatically at the borderline towards the headland and set down again at the borderline with the beginning of the new passage. The exact position of the starting and stopping are determined by GPS.

To complement this, the proven function “section-control” controls the metering devices and therefore the sowing process. With the overlapping being prevented, wear and tear is decreased and the volume of seeds can be reduced by up to 5%. With bad spots being avoided, also the weed pressure becomes less.
