Launching new booms, MEA2 and MTA2… and 10 000th aluminum boom in service for KUHN sprayers

With extensive experience in aluminum booms, KUHN are to exhibit their 10 000th aluminum boom at AGRITECHNICA 2015. This boom equips sprayers produced in their Chéméré factory (France).

KUHN is also taking the opportunity to present their new range of aluminum booms for trailed sprayers, booms MEA2 and MTA2.

Their key features are:

  • 18 to 21 m widths comprising 2 aluminum arms each side,

  • Articulation with mechanical stop, for maximum shock absorption to guarantee excellent boom stability,

  • Safety arm with full protection for stainless steel pipes and spray bars,

  • Automatic, mechanical tilt correction to ensure that the boom remains parallel to the axle of the sprayer and consequently follows the lay of the land,

  • Central frame in steel with EQUILIBRA suspension on the MEA2 version, and pendulum-connecting rod coupled with hydropneumatic anti-whiplash system providing exceptional boom stability and longevity.

And of course, this new boom has been designed completely in Aluminum, which means that the structure is perfectly corrosion-proof, no matter what product is being sprayed (chemical products and especially liquid fertilizer). It is also 3 times less dense than steel, making the boom much lighter, but just as robust so that the spraying elements are protected.

This new range of booms, designed and produced by KUHN, exclusively equips the latest generation LEXIS trailed sprayers.

The unveiling of MTA2 and MEA2 booms is being held at the AGRITECHNICA fair in Hanover. They will be on sale in limited numbers from February 2016.
