L: When and by whom was your company founded and how did you come up with the idea?

In June 2021, Philipp Ellsäßer and Simon Gies founded the GbR named after them. Their goal was the simple integration of information on the construction machine. This resulted in their first product: the digital nameplate from QIKY. With exactly this product, QIKY has been on the market since 2022 and has been allowed to officially call itself QIKY GmbH since April.

QIKY is an acronym and stands for: Quick Information Key. With this objective, numerous new products were developed last year to simplify communication between the various players in the construction industry.

L: What problem(s) is your tool/product solving? Can you identify the range of your customers?

Manufacturers of construction machinery and attachments, as well as construction and rental companies, are obliged to have the most important information about their products available at all times. In addition to manuals and technical data sheets, handover documents, instructions and tests are required. Especially when external testing organizations want to have a look, the legally important documents are missing and the search begins.

QIKY makes this search superfluous, because we bring all information directly to the machine. It is important to make this as uncomplicated as possible. Therefore, with a simple QR code scan, the most important information can be accessed directly, without the need to install any additional applications.

QIKY offers the right solution for both manufacturers and companies with an existing fleet to keep the most important information directly on the product. In our web software, a digital twin is created that accompanies the complete life cycle of a machine and can be supplemented with any extensions and interfaces.

L: What markets/regions do you focus on and where would you like to expand?

Currently, QIKY is mainly established on the German-speaking market, but has meanwhile also discovered the European market through customers such as Kinshofer and Rädlinger. The objective remains for the time being to exhibit a solid program for the construction industry in the European market. However, there are already isolated projects and ideas working in the direction of the USA. The market focus is currently in the construction sector and related industries, which can be served with our product portfolio. However, QIKY is on the verge of far-reaching developments that will enable us to serve more and more markets and regions.
