M.KI truck tipper body - electrically operated sliding tarpaulin for quick and convenient opening and closing

From today, Schmitz Cargobull can now supply the electrically operated sliding tarpaulin as an additional, factory-fitted option for the M.KI truck tipper body. This offers multiple advantages, especially when it comes to frequent loading and unloading operations. In addition to time savings, an electrical tarpaulin offers extra safety for the driver.

The electrically operated, sliding tarpaulin can be opened and closed easily and quickly by remote control from the driver's cab or from the ground. When opening and closing the sliding tarpaulin, the driver no longer has to climb onto the working platform. Occupational safety for the driver is improved, as potential accidents resulting from frequent climbing onto and down from the working platform can be minimised. The sliding tarpaulin is available for body heights from 1,460 mm and body lengths of 5,500 mm or 5,800 mm.

Schmitz Cargobull offers precisely the right M.KI, with volumes ranging from 13 to 20 m³, for every type of truck - whether from DAF, IVECO, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scania or Volvo. The basis for the bodies is a round steel body made of highly wear and dent-resistant steel. The flexible modular system allows it to be configured in a variety of lengths, floor thicknesses, side walls, and with different rear wall versions to suit almost every transport task.

The outstanding material characteristics are the result of comprehensive testing - carried out on a dent and wear testing rig - as part of the company's own in-house materials research. The tipping stability of all of the truck tipping bodies is verified using the in-house tipping test rig, which simulates the forces involved when tipping on sloping surfaces.

Depending on the truck, the round steel bodies can be manufactured in lengths of 4,500 mm, 5,000 mm, 5,300 mm, 5,500 mm or 5,800 mm. Here customers can choose between different side wall thicknesses (5 and 6 mm) and floor thicknesses (6 and 8 mm).

Schmitz Cargobull offers the perfect tailgate version for every purpose, whether it’s an internal pendulum tailgate with a chute for optimal use with road finishers, or external pendulum tailgates with surrounding seals, which also allow partial unloading. Both variants are also available with hydraulic operation.
