MOBA machine control systems

MOBA-matic & Big Sonic-Ski® levelling system with four sensors

With the new model of the proven Big Sonic-Ski® levelling system for pavers, MOBA offers an innovative solution that uses four ultrasound sensors to prevent the formation of uneven surfacing and road waves during asphalt paving. The subgrade is scanned using ultrasound technology over an area extending up to 13 metres. By calculating an average during the height measurement, a virtual reference level is determined and the screed of the paver controlled accordingly. The levelling system thereby evens out bumps in the subgrade and achieves a verifiably greater smoothness during asphalt paving.

The Big Sonic-Ski® shows its benefits in particular in construction and renovation of asphalt roadways and surfaces and can level out even road waves that appear at regular intervals of five to seven metres.

Quality control during asphalt paving:

PAVE-IR Scan

Temperature differences and laying on cold asphalt can often lead to premature damage to the roadway. The MOBA PAVE-IR™ system offers a new way of preventing such damage and of monitoring the temperature directly during asphalt paving using a temperature scanner, thus allowing you to optimize the paving process. The system uses an intelligent temperature scanner over the entire paving width of up to twelve metres to measure the temperature of the asphalt at up to 61 measurement points. The temperature profile is shown in real-time on a display. As a result, the operator can react at any time if irregularities occur. In addition, the profile is stored with the GPS position data and transferred to a USB stick. Using the PAVE Project Manager™ software package, the contractor can evaluate and document the data in the office, can use it for planning subsequent work and to document the quality of his or her work. At the same time, this analysis can be used to better understand the whole process of road construction and to improve the quality in the long term.

Controlled compaction using the MCA-2000 roller system

The MCA-2000 sustainably improves the quality of the compaction process. The system temperature sensors to measure the asphalt temperature, uses GNSS positioning of the roller to ascertain the number of passes and compares these data with the projected target number of passes. By means of the combination and visualisation of this information on the seven-inch display, the driver can immediately identify where sufficient compaction has already been performed and where additional passes are still required. This will prevent over and undercompaction of your work. By means of the asphalt temperature display, the system allows compaction to be performed in the optimum temperature spectrum. This prevents the compaction of asphalt that is too cold, which can damage the material and lead to subsequent road damage. In addition, all data are saved and can be transferred back to the office via an Internet connection and filed as proof of the quality of your work. The MCA-2000 can be used together with a variety of different rollers for asphalt paving and earthwork.

2D and 3D – The MOBA 3D-matic levelling system

The MOBA 3D-matic is a precise and flexible 3D levelling system for graders, dozers and dozer blades that can also be used as a 2D system if necessary. The MOBA 3D-matic increases the efficiency of machine utilization and helps execute projects quickly and with precision.

The 3D planning data are made available to the system via a data carrier. The position of the machine is ascertained with the GNSS sensor or, alternatively, total station. The controller compares the machine position with design data and calculates the deviations. Corrections for these deviations are performed quickly and precisely in the blade controller. MOBA 3D-matic scores with simple and straightforward menu navigation and a clearly arranged 7-inch touch-screen display. The modular structure of the MOBA systems makes it easy to upgrade all MOBA 2D levelling systems to the 3D system.

Xsite excavator control systems – the right solution for every requirement

The modular structure of MOBA's Xsite range of excavation systems offers the highest possible level of flexibility, providing you with a suitable solution for every project, whether it be small or large. The 2D system Xsite EASY is an entry-level system that provides all the 2D functionalities for smaller projects. With the 2D/3D system Xsite PRO, comprehensive 2D functionalities are available. This unit includes the largest touchscreen display available on the market for a 2D excavator control system. Another special feature is the option of upgrading to 3D at any time. Only the GNSS extension must be added to be able to work in 3D. By doing so, you can create simple 3D profiles directly on site. Measuring and checking work is largely eliminated thanks to the system's GNSS positioning functionality. The high-end 3D system Xsite PRO Advanced offers even more 3D functionalities: For example, 3D models can be read and used in all widely-available formats and without the need for tedious conversion processes. All data is saved for later documentation and its cable-free data exchange capacity allows fast transfer of information from office to construction site and vice versa. Where you have any questions, our remote support can provide you with help quickly and without complications. The modular structure of the systems allows it to be upgraded to any level within the Xsite range at any time.

Precise drilling using the MDS drilling system

The MDS-1000 display system is used for tilt and depth monitoring of drill holes, and can be deployed on drilling devices, excavators or pile drivers. It replaces analogue measurement technologies and enables a smooth workflow without interruptions for manual control measurements. The high-end MDS-2000 system provides a wide range of functionalities and saves all drilling and machine data. It can be used to optimise borehole planning. It improves safety, as parallel boring can be used to prevent rock fall and uneven broken edges during drilling of blast holes. Using the MDS-2000 Advanced variant, the drilling system also works with a telemetrics module. This allows remote access to the machine, thus providing a faster service. Drilling data can even be called via the web. In addition to all this, the system can import Quarry X and Excel files and can be used together with a reference laser for depth measurements.

Flexible combination of individual components

The components of the MOBA product platform can be combined together with total flexibility into a completely new system or integrated into an already existing one. The HMIs, controllers and sensors in our range work with complete reliability and have proven themselves in action. Thanks to their special casting technique and robust housing, all components are ideal for use under tough conditions like on construction sites. With this modular system, for example aerial work platform control systems can be realized exactly according to the machine type.
