New address for Pfedelbach`s biggest employer: SCHEUERLE Fahrzeugfabrik now trading in the Otto-Rettenmaier-Straße

Through the re-naming of the "Lortzingstraße" to "Otto-Rettenmaier-Straße", Pfedelbach mayor, Thorsten Kunkel, honoured E.H. Otto Rettenmaier, owner of SCHEUERLE Fahrzeugfabrik, on 7th January 2014 on behalf of the Pfedelbach community.

With a total of three new road signs and a land register entry, the decision taken by the Pfedelbach local council to rename the Lortzingstraße to Otto-Rettenmaier-Straße was implemented. As a result, the company address is now identical to the name of the company owner. Through the re-naming, the town wanted to thank Otto Rettenmaier for his tremendous commitment for the well-being and benefit of Pfedelbach over the past 26 years. Thus, Otto Rettenmaier ensured that numerous jobs were preserved and created at the SCHEUERLE Fahrzeugfabrik plant as well as supporting the Pfedelbach youth centre and other facilities.

For a long time, the Pfedelbach community considered how it could suitably honour the multi-entrepreneur and generous benefactor of social and cultural projects. As a first step, Otto Rettenmaier was awarded the Public Service Medal in Gold in 2013 by the Pfedelbach town council for his services, whilst the new road name should follow in 2014 as an additional sign of the close links which have been forged. On 7th January 2014, the time had finally come. "The re-naming to 'Otto-Rettenmaier-Straße' is a symbol of our gratitude and, at the same time, a special token of appreciation. With the new road name, the names of Rettenmaier and SCHEUERLE are now inextricably linked to the world beyond," said Mayor Kunkel in his speech. Otto Rettenmaier was visibly touched when he spoke in reply: "On behalf of everyone at SCHEUERLE, I accept this honour with great pride and I am delighted to receive this special recognition." With more than 450 employees, SCHEUERLE is the biggest employer in Pfedelbach.

A red cloth covered the brand new road sign which was unveiled at a ceremony by Lore Rettenmaier in the presence of the Rettenmaier family, Managing Directors Dr. Axel Müller (TII Group), Susanne Schlegel and Andreas Kohler (SCHEUERLE) and Mayor Thorsten Kunkel, in bright sunshine and spring-like temperatures. From 1st February onwards, the postal address of SCHEUERLE officially changes to Otto-Rettenmaier-Straße 15.
